Ok, then in that case I guess crossing the horizon will only be required at the end of the run, instead of after both final boss defeats.

The rules are as follows:

You must beat every level that has difficulty points over the course of the run. This includes both regular levels and their broken pump counterparts.

Time ends when all levels with difficulty points have been cleared. Crossing the horizon is not necessary.
