I've been trying for a while to get a good speedrun time for Jump King. After a long time I finally did it on camera. Unfortunately after the credits when it showed the time at the bottom it said "using snake ring". At some point I had accidentally hit the button that turned on the snake ring, which I didn't even know existed before now. To my knowledge, despite being turned on the effects of the snake ring were never actually utilized. I tested it out and in my copy of the game the snake ring doesn't even work. The rules say "use of the snake ring is not allowed" however even though it was turned on it wasn't actually used. Would this technicality make the run acceptable or does just having it on disqualify the run?
