The idea of a site like highscore.com or speedrun.com might be ultimately traced to the initial efforts of Twin Galaxies in the early 80's.
These clowns have acted like this for decades, is anyone surprised that they have never changed?
This feature would be really nice to have, I moderate a couple of different games and have made forum posts asking questions and I am always afraid I may miss someone responding with something valid to say.
A thread includes all the posts inside of it. It's like wanting the delete a house and keep all the furniture inside it. You can't because there is no house for the furniture to exist in anymore.
The best you can do is edit the OP and remove everything it says. I'm not sure why you want this feature though.
I'd like to respond to the change in moderation in Long Live the Queen, requested by Thehealbus. I realize that nobody in particular "owns" these leaderboards, but it was a bit of a shock to realize I wasn't moderating a game anymore.
I'm happy to add you as a moderator if you speedrun the game.
Unless you want to compete with a world record for a game, you don't have to speedrun with the optimal equiptment, just use what you have for fun.
But yes, as with any game, in order to compete with the best times you will need to buy the hardware everyone else is competing on.
Embedded youtube videos don't work for me, so it would be nice if there was a way to get the link to the video without having to view the page source.
This game doesn't really have definitive paths, the endings are flexible based on how you played and what you did. So I think 'any%' suffices for just completing the game in the quickest manner possible. But since being a magic girl is such an important thing in the game I like having a category that requires you to become one.
If anyone else has any thoughts on timing, categories ect, please let me know so we can discuss.
Is there any way to access the video link to a run? Embedding for youtube videos does not work for me so I can't see the videos for any runs from youtube, but I still would like to watch them so I find it unfortunate the link to the video is not posted on the page for the specific run.
I would like to request a switch in moderation for Long Live the Queen. This is based on a few reasons but mostly based on the fact that the current moderator for the game has never run the game.
And after I submitted a run for the any% category I asked them about a strange restriction in the any% rules. To which they promptly changed the category to be that rule, showing a lack of understand about what any% means.
I don't think someone who doesn't run a game should be allowed to make decisions about the game, and if I was moderator I would open discussion to the people that actually run the game to collectively decide.
I know this game is pretty dead, and the only category every competed on is crunch%, but I wanted to discuss the timing for anyone who comes along.
For crunch% it should just be kept simple, stick to in game time, so timing starts with gaining control and ends with losing control.
For the other 2 categories I'm fine with taking time of hard reset to completion, timed in real time.
I'm an advocate for integrating other leaderboard into this site on a one direction basis, and allowing users to post their run for those games, but with no integration back to the other site.
ie a time posted on another leaderboard would show up here, but people can post times here and it wouldn't show on the other leaderboard.
If you're going to prioritize assisting other leaderbaord you're going to run into a lot more problems than it is worth, especially when the point is to make this place the go to spot for leaderboards.
I am very disappointed that you are not choosing to add games to the list whose communities don't agree with being here. SRL made a strong stand that a global leaderboard for all games would be a place for display data, and they would list times regardless of the runners want to be on the site.
So when they announced speedrun.com would be the continuation of their leaderboard project, I was hoping the policies remain the same. This site should exist as a place for people to find times and runs for every game, it's absurd I have to go to another site to find times when they could easily be listed here.
