Hey guys and girls. Im planning on starting to speedrun and of course, record it. The main console I will be using is the N64 but also the GC. The best I could find was the GV-USB2. I also found this at the sticky thread:

"COMPOSITE / S-VIDEO

If you are unable or don't want to use those outputs to a TV, then we have to look at specific options.

  • The GV-USB2 is the current leader for cheap but effectively capture on composite and S-Video. https://www.amazon.com/DATA-connection-video-capture-GV-USB2/dp/B00428BF1Y

-The other older option is a Dazzle DVC100 if you can find them or a newer Dazzle https://www.pinnaclesys.com/en/products/dazzle/dvd-recorder-hd/ These are not as good as they were, and for a cheaper price you can get the GV-USB2 which puts out better quality anyway.

Consoles that would use this are from the early generations, for example NES, SNES, Famicon, Mega Drive, Dreamcast, PS1.

It can also be used it later generation analog signals, but at that stage the option is for better picture using other means like..."

Now since I have already seen a comparision between those two, I know that the GV-USB2 is better. Now my questions:

  • Will this even work with the GC, since its not listed? (I think but not sure)
  • Do I need anything else like a Splitter or two Composite cables? -- If so, will the output on the TV have a delay since its not a direct input with a splitter?
  • Is there something better or equal you can recommend to me?
  • If I use a HDMI capture card and use a HDMI to RCA (AV) converter, will this work (with audio)?

My budget is at 100 bucks and maybe up to 150. Thank you in advance! (If I missed something to point out please let me know)
