We'd have to see it first. It goes without saying that we will be supporting it. We will most likely just allow submissions with it for each of the respective platforms that it supports. It would be essentially just be considered "emulation".
If there are any functional or frame rate differences it would most likely be put into its own category but that is very highly unlikely.

I don't have a run in this game but I'm a good friend of Lyuba and can confirm she has been running this game actively. I have a lot of experience moderating other games and I can vouch for Lyuba. I can also help her out with modding stuff if need be. If the game needs more help with moderation she would be a great candidate!
Yes, it is allowed. You are only required to set the difficulty and damage to the correct setting as per category, e.g. Normal = Normal Difficulty/ Normal Damage. All other settings can be anything you wish.
The default button is F2 in MAME to enter the service menu to change the options, and it is required to be shown either before or after the run, but must be within the same footage . (You can see this at the start of A1Major's run)
I should also add though, even though it is a coincedence in this case, you are correct about the 30th Anniversary runs. 30th anniversary runs on final burn emulation which is confirmed to run slightly faster, which is why it is in its own category. However the discrepency you noticed here is because we are all running on Turbo 2 which is a normal selectable option and allowed by our leaderboards.
Dude - We run on Turbo 2. The example vid you posted is very clearly on Normal speed.

In regards to the K3ft run. Indeed the glitch happened on real hardware so we just accepted it. We still to this day don't know how to reproduce it. I don't have access to real hardware Saturn/VF1 to test. If there is a consensus that it shouldn't be accepted due to the glitch I'm happy to negotiate (maybe have it in its own category). As is, there hasn't been much competition and, not trying to discredit k3ft or anything but I'm pretty sure the run is quite beatable even without the glitch.
But yes, figuring out how to reproduce the glitch would be an amazing find if you can figure it out. I haven't quite dived deep into VF1 Saturn, but I have never seen anything like it on the Arcade/PC ports. Let me know if you find anything!
Yo thanks for pointing this out. Actually we encountered this with MK11 as well. As I understand it, the 2nd round will take the "half second left over from the previous round" and round it down on the display. Thats supposedly why it happens. There is an "invisible 90.238" for example on the timer on the second round as opposed to it being a full 90.999.
Sorry, I missed the part where you said "its the PS4 version of the game but I played on PS5". That is VERY interesting and thank you for that information. I will say that this means you still qualify for the PS4 category, not the PS5 category. The main issue here is that it effects your loading times, in order to keep you in fair competition to other runners, that's where the run belongs. (Actually submitting it to PS5 just puts you at a massive disadvantage lol).
So yeah, to be clear - make your run a highlight, then submit to the PS4 category and we will verify it. If you want to run for the PS5 category, you may need to purchase the actual PS5 version of the game.
Also, to be clear. It was not rejected due to the discrepancy with PS4/PS5. I would have just moved it to the PS4 category. The main problem is the video was from a broadcast (Twitch deletes broadcast after a few weeks). We need it to be a highlight so that its permanent.
Can you explain why your loading times are so slow? They are identical to a PS4's. PS5 runs generally have much faster loading times.
That doesn't answer his question. Why did you ever do it without a timer? It doesn't benefit you in any way. This coupled with your previous submission where you didn't even show the end screen has caused suspicion to your runs.
I have rejected this run under the new rule of not showing the timer. I apologise in advance if my suspicion is misplaced, but my duty as a moderator is to ensure legitimacy. It requires no effort for you to show the end-screen and no effort to display the in-game timer, there is no reason for you to exclude them from your runs. The only reason to remove it is for the purposes of hiding cheating attempts.
If your runs are legitimate, then you should have no troubles showing the timer on your next attempts. And if so, I will apologise for the suspicion. I wish you the best of luck.
