Hey, the door glitch is done by walking into the door and spamming the interact key on it. If the fps is high enough, you will clip and the door will shoot you up. It is only doable on the 2019 build.
Hey, server doesn't exist right now, I'd be up for an "All things Gone Home" server since I love the game even outside the speedrunning aspect but my knowledge in Discord servers is pretty poor
That's odd, it shouldn't be too hard to get a few more fps if you have all the graphics down, I also like to do my runs without the lights turned on
Yeh this version is very unoptimized, it's a shame but this game can be quite pay2win to get more fps 💀
Can you explain to me what kind of glitch it is ? If it's dropping frames, what I do is a 360 rotation before I start the run, so more of the stuff loads and it's much better.
Hey everyone, we've now added 60fps limited sub-categories to the main leaderboard. This is made so people with lower specs can still enjoy and compete on the game, as we now know, high frames per second is key for a fast run.
As the rules states, you must have your game locked on 60fps max, and have a fps counter displayed throughout the run, this can be done via recording your display rather than recording the game in OBS.
For console runs, we've decided to create another sub-category just for them !
I hope you will like this initiative !
The 2013 build is used for the Any% category, as you can go through the secret door instead of fully opening it. For the current 100% route you need to use the 2019 build which allows to clip upwards which saves time. Newer build is perfectly fine for Any% Glitchless but it has all the previously mentioned glitches patched.
Hey, when it comes to Steam downpatching, I was never able to try it myself but the people I know that tried told me it basically didn't work.
So I basically had to hunt in torrent sites (I know this sucks) to find older versions of the game. Right now I have a 2019 build for 100% and a very early 2013 build which can be used for Any% Legacy but the game was very unoptimized so it's not ideal.
My issue with starting the timer when you "take control" of the character is that it's not very precise, if you start inputting directions as soon as the loading is over, you will have altready moved in the black screen.
Hi, I'm making this post because I realized that Flying2926 and I were timing our runs completely differently. I think we should clarify what the timing rules are so I'm proposing this method: As you can see, starting the timer on the black screen after the loading is pretty consistent and although it requires retiming afterwards - I believe wrs all require retiming anyway, it's precise enough by hand for running. Ending when the crosshair disappears is what I believe what Flying2926 used and I think it's the best way. Tell me what you think :)
Alright sorry for the delay, this is now agreed and good news ! I also got ahold of a 2013 build, this means that old Any% will be runnable again !
My internet is awful so I didn't archive it yet but for now you can already ask me for the 2019 build for the 100% category (keep in mind, only if you've got a run submitted on whichever category).
Hey everyone.
Since the latest patch doesn't allow to do the door oob glitch, would it be allowed for me to share my game version ? It's a drm-free version that I got from Indiegala iirc. What could be done is I'd give it only to people who've already done a run on the Any% Glitchless category so it's not straight-up piracy.
Bear in mind the Any% (Legacy) door clip doesn't work with this version, it's only for 100%, but I guess that's the closest thing to a downpatch for now.
Got a new Duck% pb, as it turns out it's really looking like a Any% Hard mode
Dirty Cheater, I did try that, it ended up being a 35.56 run. I don't wanna say it sucks, but it's really not that fun, even less fun than regular Any% so eh
I'll also say that it's only fair to add this category right now, because the Epic Games version (which is the version a lot of newcomers have) has the door glitch fixed; which means that no matter how hard they try, they won't be able to get any time close to the world record. And also, 100% Glitchless is a great category in itself, the movement skill is very demanding and it hasn't been optimized.
