Honestly, just do whatever you can manage. I'd try 720p, 30 fps, and lowering your streaming bitrate (dunno, 3500? idk).
In that case, stuff like that is generally understood to be the runner's responsibility and not RNG since, well, it's not part of the game. Should all factors be controlled in theory? Perhaps. Is some RNG a pain to deal with? Yes. But it's part of the challenge of running a game one loves, or else it's not the whole package.
This has been brought up repeatedly and the response is still that there are greater priorities at the moment, like clearing up bugs with the redesign. If you want to be social, get a Discord account and join a community server.
I mean, there'll be some less popular games which don't require video evidence, but it's a little pointless when recording is so simple nowadays. Just get OBS on PC, or tap the included screen recorder on iOS. If you're too lazy to record, it sounds like you'll be too lazy to put actual effort into your game, and why do that when you can just submit any random low time and then tell all your friends you got a world record?
(That was a joke. Please don't do that, just record.)
While I'm not a member of the community, I'm going to guess this won't be allowed. I don't know of any mobile emulators which are accurate (exact) enough for speedrun purposes. There are strong emulators available on computers, however.
Indeed. RNG is a part of the game, sometimes an irreplaceable part of the game - and with that fully removed, are you really playing the same game as casual players?
I use framecounting and it works, but admittedly my experience is only with integer fps values and decent videos which are intact. Especially when looking at videos on third-party sites, you''ll have to be careful.
Minecraft uses Hard difficulty to increase the spawn rate of hostile mobs, in particular Endermen, so Ender Pearls can be farmed.
Having thought about this lightly before, I'd say choose whatever works best for your story. I'd lean toward natural aptitude, though, since it allows the speedrunner to explain their choices and makes them less overpowered. Letting them always know the best solution might harm suspense.
Most games won't require the use of splits, especially mobile games where that's difficult to accomplish. Just focus on recording your runs. (also, capitalizing every word is disgusting please don't do it)
@HeyItsGMan looks like it's an online marathon so yes but this is definitely not the right place for that question
Categories and rules are always determined by individual communities since games are so different.
Opacity? Without showing us exactly, it's tough to tell.
Unsure if bug, but username color (in the top right of the menu bar) is getting overwritten by link color on the default and user-custom themes. Other custom themes seem to properly display selected username color.
@SenkoChan All of these runs are very RNG-dependent, making this the opposite of a marathon-safe idea.
Still, for any decent times runners would have to throw the concept of fun out the window. Just doesn't seem likely to catch on.
If using Twitch, make sure you highlight your broadcasts with your run(s) so they aren't automatically deleted. There should also be an option to save past broadcasts which you need to activate first.
