Ok, that's interesting. The pointer doesn't work for me anymore as well. Then we take another pointer. @jtm, try this out:

state("csgo") { byte load : "materialsystem.dll", 0x000FC044, 0x1E4, 0x20, 0x10, 0x94, 0xC; }

isLoading { return current.load == 1; }

No problem. Another idea: When you select "Save as", do you choose "All types" or "All files" for the file typ? A common mistake is that you keep it at the preselected item which is .txt for the normal text editor for example and then, you have a name.asl.txt file which isn't an .asl file.

GermanyProenke4 years ago

Did you change the timing method to "Game Time"? Because the .asl file won't work with "Current Timing Method" and "Real Time".

GermanyProenke4 years ago

@Evandar I'm aware of that. It's quite an interesting field what you can do with pointers (e.g timer starts automatically when you select "Start" or ends when you're in a specific ending screen). But for now, I'm only focusing on loading screens. Btw. may you change the title of my thread to "Can someone test my load remover?". I think that's more expressive.

@jtm As my .asl file only takes care of removing loads, it is intended that Start, Split and Reset are disabled. Just confirm with "Ok" and try it out.

GermanyProenke4 years ago

I guess this is on current version. Don't exactly know what you mean with this question. You just start the game, start the timer ("Game Time") with my .asl file and start a Weapons Course round and the timer should pause during its loading screen.

If a load remover comes in handy for you is another question. As you don't consider the loading screens, it might not. Like I wrote before, I'm learning this and with CSGO, I had my first success and now I need someone who confirms that the load remover also works on his/her pc.

Hey guys, I'm learning how to make a load remover so that the timer of Livesplit pauses during a loading screen and runs after the loading screen, both automatically. Maybe some of you know the procedure of finding the right address and the right pointer for it with the help of Cheat Engine. Anyway, I've tested it with CSGO as it was the most comfortable game for doing that. Could you do me a favour? I've found a promising pointer which works for the Weapons Course loading screen. Now I would like to know whether it works for you, too. Basically verifying my work. Just copy-paste this code in a text editor...

state("csgo") { byte load : "materialsystem.dll", 0x000FC044, 0x1E4, 0x20, 0x10, 0x94, 0xC; }

isLoading { return current.load == 1; }

...and save it as .asl file. In Livesplit, change your timer to "Game Time" under "Edit Layout". Also in this Layout Editor, click on "+", go for "Control" and select "Scriptable Auto Splitter". Double click on that and browse for the .asl file you created and confirm with "Ok".

Now, you can open CSGO and start the timer in the menu. It should run and when you select Weapons Course, the timer should pause in this loading screen. After the loading screen, it should run again.

Please note that the pointer doesn't work for all loading screens. I've just tested it with the Weapons Course loading screen. All I need to know is whether your timer with my .asl file also works properly.

Thank you for your help :)

Hey guys,

you know the strat for Tutorial you can shorten the reload animation by using melee when the ammo number updates. This works for Soldier. Did anyone find out if this strat also works for other heroes as you reload quicker than usual?

GermanyProenke6 years ago

Hey mods, so it's been more than a month since I submit Any% and 100%. Here a friendly reminder that someone shall watch my runs and decide to verify or decline them soon :)

GermanyProenke6 years ago

The normal story (without Bravest of Them) runs fine. Smooth 60 FPS in 4K and the best message: Almost all loading times take less than 10 seconds. I'm thinking about doing 100 % on Sunday again but I'm not sure yet. Could be a spontaneous decision.

GermanyProenke6 years ago

So, I began experimenting with the PCSX2 emulator. This game works so well so that I can even play it in 4K. Look at this:

Yes, please use a save file with all levels already unlocked/available. I updated the rules for this.

GermanyProenke6 years ago

Hey, I'm gonna do a second attempt of beating my WR on 100 %. It will be on this Sunday, yes in two days, decided on short notice. When? That link tells it to you: https://www.twitch.tv/events/0wATwcuWQc6b3O9Fy9GkKA (it should convert the start/end time to your time zone) There are some changes this time. I'm gonna use my headset to talk with you (easier to answer to your comments). I hope you will enjoy my good German and bad English pronunciation (of course most important one is gameplay). I'm gonna use splits and have a small piece of paper with some new strats. Sneak Peek: https://abload.de/img/ferkel01jbo.jpg

See you :)

Of course not but I forgot that you can get some reels just by finding them. So, I modify the rule to:

"Timer starts either when you collect a reel normally (when "1" pops up) or when you touch the first squidbot and ends when you collect the last reel (when "105" pops up)"

I hope this rule is understandable. If not, let me know. Anyway, I let you choose which "kind" of reel to start with.

Second loading time is calculated. I've got 6345,46 s, so my first run is really better than my second one. And I saw where I did the mistakes in my second attempt. Well, let's see when I'll do my third attempt. If you add a "Real time without loads" column, the time of my first run is 3h 20min 57s 940ms.

GermanyProenke6 years ago

So, loading time of my first run done in April is calculated. What a time-consuming activity.

I've got 5953,22 s. If my last run from last week shall be better, I will need 6600,22 s or more loading time.

So, let's get to work, part 2.

GermanyProenke6 years ago

Thanks man although I would be happier when I beat my own time. So, first analysis done. The first time is from my last run, the second time is from today's run, the third time is the difference between. The three times before "End of..." is the length of each level (Pooh, Bravest of Them of Pooh,...). 14m52s 13m55s (-57s) End of Winnie Pooh: 14:52 13:55 -57s 4m27s 5m07s (+40s) End of Bravest of Them: 19:19 19:02 -17s 28m57s 30m40s (+1m43s) End of Roo: 48:16 49:42 (1m26s) 6m46s 5m30s (-1m16s) End of Bravest of Them: 55:02 55:12 (10s) 26m20s 26m34s (+14s) End of Owl: 1:21:22 1:21:46 +24s 6m09s 7m33s (+1m24s) End of Bravest of Them: 1:27:31 1:29:19 (1m48s) 33m36s 37m50s (+4m14s) End of Eeyore: 2:01:07 2:07:09 (6m02s) 11m05s 18m21s (+7m16s) End of Bravest of Them: 2:12:12 2:25:30 (13m18s) 41m43s 45m10s (+3m27s) End of Rabbit: 2:53:55 3:10:40 (16m45s) 19m08s 22m41s (+3m33s) End of Bravest of Them: 3:13:03 3:33:21 (20m18s) 1h2m49s 1h3m15s (+26s) End of Tigger: 4:15:52 4:36:36 (20m44s) 34m21s 24m13s (-10m08s) End of Bravest of Them: 4:50:13 5:00:49 (10m36s) 9m58s 10m09s (+11s) End: 5:00:11 5:10:58 (10m47s)

Concluding: Wow, what a up and down. Well, until Owl's Bravest of Them, everything looks fine. The huge question mark begins at Eeyore's level. So, it took me 4m14s longer at completing Eeyore's level and 7m16s longer at completing his Bravest of Them?! Same with both Rabbit level. And then at Tigger, a big time save?! I rather have a feeling that I just had misfortune with the loading times because they're variable. Proving whether it's true, I gonna calculate of both runs its loadless time. @MODS, if the loadless time of my today's run is less than of my last run, can you add then a column "loadless time"? Then, I would submit my today's run as it would be better than my first one.

GermanyProenke6 years ago

5:10:58.86 :O Almost 11 minutes slower but I don't why. I definitely gonna analyze that because I want't to know where that massive time loss come from. This run actually felt better: No bust (unless I wanted to), no elgato disconnection, bravest of them the same. Man, I'm really excited to figure this out.

GermanyProenke6 years ago

Hey guys, I'm planning to do a twitch livestream on the 5th of August, at 12 noon (UTC) beating my own WR on 100 %. Maybe, you wanna be my viewers as the loading times are long, so I can chat with you (and of course you enjoy my gameplay).

See you :)

Hello speedrunner, nice to meet you here :) You want to speedrun this game? No problem, just read this thread and the rules first, submit your video and if everything is correct/not suspicious, I'll verify it.

Q: Are glitches allowed? A: Yes, but the rules of each category still have to be followed.

Q: What's actually a "glitch"? A: A glitch is the exploiting of an error made by the developers using the normal in-game features. There are many different types of glitches. The most famous glitch for me is called "Out of Map" (OOM). For example:

Q: Why are emulators banned? A: Emulator option is now (4th November 2018) available as I can't see unfair advantages compared to normal PS2 version.

Q: Any rules for the video itself? A: Yes, upload your video on YouTube and/or on Twitch. For YouTube, make sure that your video is public or listed. For Twitch, your stream shall be saved as a highlight, not as a previous broadcast because it disappears after 14 days. I'll inform you if your video isn't available anymore for any reasons in order to fix it. Otherwise, I'll delete your run to keep the fairness (run always with a video). And the timer shall be clearly visible and readable.

Q: Any behaviour rules? A: Of course! Respect each other, no swear words, no spam. We can solve everything with nice and friendly words.

Q: Why no discord? A: Maybe when we grow up but for now the forum is enough. Just open a thread when you have a question or sth.

Q: I want to be a moderator, too. Any requirements? A: Yes. 1) Submit a full-game run. 2) Ask me. However, I stay as the only moderator here for now.

Q: Something about you? A: Well, my name is Proenke, I come from Germany and I'm a speedrunner since March 2017. I have a YouTube, Twitter and Twitch account. I'm a huge fan of racing and shooter games.

Have fun and enjoy it here :)

Hey guys,

I have got an e-mail by twitch today that highlights from previous livestreams (26th of February - 8th of March) are deleted. You, too?

Anyway, my highlight of "One Huge Loop[R]" is lost. Shall I do this event again?
