Ohio, USAI got this new minus world PB today, but I have no idea if it was a 2:39.9x or a 2:40.0x. From Livesplit I got a time of 2:39.97 after going frame by frame, but I can't trust that Livesplit is accurate enough. This was done on FCEUX. Can someone retime this to the frame and let me know whether or not it is a 2:39? If not I want to do more runs to get a 2:39. Thanks.
What type of controller you use should never matter regardless of what platform you play on unless you use left+right or turbofire. You could probably use a guitar hero controller if you'd want to.
I've been running for a while now, but thought I would introduce myself now that I have a PC that can stream. I'm Novawolf, a (mature) 15 year old speedrunner from Ohio. I do SMB (PB: 5:03) and want to learn The Lost Levels and SMW as well. I'll probably only stream on weekends from anywhere between 9PM-Midnight EST. I don't ask for any support on my runs but any given is greatly appreciated.

I know it's a little off topic (okay, a lot off topic) but thought it would be interesting to get some insight on this, since good fonts are crucial to making the Livesplit section of your screen look presentable. Also, I've been thinking of trying out new fonts for myself, and wanted to gather suggestions together.
I personally use a different font for letters and numbers. For Letters I use Segue UI Regular, as it's pretty basic and clean, so there's no going wrong with it. For numbers I use DS-Digital, which makes the timer use the seven segment display, the numbers commonly found in scoreboards and clocks. It's a neat design and is pretty fitting especially for retro games like SMB (the game I run).
It's possible, but undescribably difficult. WR contenders would have to do TAS FPG in 8-1 and TAS 4-2, both of which are ridiculous to save in a run on their own, let alone doing both of them and all the other glitches in a run. Doing both would save .7s in a run, and then .1 could be saved in 8-4 by doing fast accels. Again, this is extremely difficult, so while it's possible, it's not going to happen anytime soon.
Look, I know that I can build a PC and that it's probably cheaper. I wanted recommendations for pre-built PCs to see if buying any kind of one is worth it.
I think the problem here is that when you do the backwards jumps you aren't brushing against anything, which is what pushes Mario to the right and allows the trick to work. Also yes, you must stop on the pipe or else you will have to go back to get in the pipe which scrolls the screen back the other way.
Okay, to be more specific I want something that can stream at least 720p streams (1080p preferred), can run most games on medium or high settings, and has a price tag in triple digits. I also want whole PCs, not something I have to build

Can someone recommend a PC they use for streaming and/or gaming that has fairly good components and isn't outrageously expensive? (Max. 800-900 USD)

I think for it to be allowed the website would have to use a core from one of the whitelisted emulators. Also I would NOT recommend running online emulator. Adware usually causes the game to slow down quite a bit. I've played online for practice during school and I'm pretty sure I've gotten down to ~45 fps. Therefore all your runs will be drastically slower than if you use any other platform. Bottom line: if you can get your hands on any other platform, such as a real emulator, it's going to help you out a lot.
