The 2x EXP Mod is a modification of the game technically. It changes the reward system to reward twice as much EXP and SP. This is theoretically possible for the PSP as well, but the problem was that due to the infrastructure of that version it was more likely to break. Regardless its possible to make one for both when I am free. PSP is much slower since you effectively move at half speed so its very common to not be able to avoid fights and thus increases the amount of fights you take, and also bosses are stronger in every way so you basically need more levels by a lot to beat them so that version is very level dependent.

EDIT: Its also extremely luck based since you cant manage your stats much and drops are extremely rare and so getting them makes your run much faster. So effectively your run can die if you dont get Kuro Glasses and Krieg Battle Spear for example. Also the PSP version is Japanese and translating it slowly corrupts your game breaking certain menu's as you get more items.

I have done runs of this game on emulator as well and I agree with allowing them. I think it opens the game up and putting it in its own variable keeps it separate if there is some sort of problem. Though IGT being tied to framerate may make this not required but still its the safe bet.

I personally know Art to be a very reliable person who works very hard so I agree with his inclusion as a mod.

Would it be possible to add a NG and NG+ variable as well as the ability to use Emulation? I have a hard copy but no easy ways to record my setup and emulation is very accusable and will help this game grow. It can easily be separated with a variable as well so it wont disrupt the current runs. IL's would also be very cool as a NG+ thing to do and will add extra ways for new players to get started playing this amazing game.

Yeah I think simple controls are fine. Its likely the attack is determined by the enemy distance and state. If they block it probably attempts to guard break but otherwise it will do the move for the moment.
