I would test the game without rebirth patch to see how that works.

Also really install the game, not just copy paste from a folder or something.

Thats the first things i would try

Arrow key should be allways movement keys even if binded to other keys. Spacebar and Enter also should allways be action key.

Its absolute ok to have premade saves. This us how it was allways done. You also need "D" rank for not having the RL in the item box.

Only exception for this is premade saves is All Scenarios runs. There its stated explicid in the rules.

You dont need to modify anything, just get vanilla SN version and just patch it to 1.1 and you good to go. Im not against a seperate leaderboard for GoG but the truth is that GoG is not a good pc port if you compare it with SN. Its an effortless cashgrab imo. Same with the other classic GoG RE's.

I tested fps on GoG and it runs a bit smoother than SN. GoG often reaches like 30fps. SN is more like 28-29fps and rarely reaches 30fps. GoG also looks more like the Chinese version or the old PC port before SN came out.

So in theory GoG is slower IGT

Would be nice to have something to see IGT in livesplit like we have for SN to really test it.

If the rebirth patch works on GoG isnt it just sourcenext version? I mean its easier to patch the 2006 version than GoG and if it is the exact same rebirth version then we all run the same version anyway

You can do all sorts of weird stuff with debug menu. There is also a Atlas glitch which removes every colision with walls and you can skip the waterfall in sewers.

I tried to do the skips in the vanilla game but no chance, i dont even know where to start without the debug menu. But its interesting to see what possibly can be skipped in this game.

some door skips are different as well.

you can not compare quick croc with opening the lid of your console. quick croc is a skill based skip and opening your lid of your console is just hardware manipulation. runners of this game are aware of this lid opening skip for like 15 years.

Play the GCN version an skip all of the cutscenes 🙂

You can enable debug menu on rebirth patch. enable it in the config file. DebugMode = 1

F5 is debug menu.

Make sure to restart the game and save the config file changes after doing this
