Hello all, I am aware that most top runners have a consistent blj setup. If anyone knows how to explain a setup that I can use for getting consistent bljs please let me know.
Project 64 is included in OpenEmu, so its the same thing just with different functionality. I dont now if that helps at all lol
If you are using mac chances are you are using openemu If thats the case settings cant be changed and since the computer your using clearly has hardware limitations you will need to learn lag reduction strats.
First things first- Have you completed the game casually? If not, you need to do that. Just learing how to move mario and learning how the game feels is important. Then, you can work on speeding your runs up. My first run was pretty long, but I am learning from each run how to improve ;)
Hello! Has anyone in the community started running/ submitted the newly released minecraft dungeons? If not, I will do it in the near future.
I tottaly agree that n64 controller rebuilds are not very good, but the Hori switch battlepad is made by nintendo and is a gamecube style controller, and the Retro-Bit Tribute 64 is a high quality build for its price and has been reviewed and tested and works wonderfully. Nintendrew himself did a review on his channel, and from what i could tell it was a good qualoty build. It also comes in a n64 version that plugs into your n64 instead of the usb verison for switch/emulator.
there is no real modifications you can make that will make it feel like the original n64 controller unfortunately. I was using my xbox controller for all of my n64 speedrunning and have recently quit n64 games until I can get a better controller. The best way to get the angles that you are talking about is getting a controller with notches so you can get perfect up, down, etc. inputs. I will highly recommend that you purchase a controller such as the Retro-bit Tribute n64 for only $20 on amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Retro-Bit-Controller-Nintendo-RetroPie-Raspberry/dp/B07Q8FZ8XH/ref=sr_1_3?crid=2L53KQHZKBC04&dchild=1&keywords=retrobit+tribute+64&qid=1589738768&s=electronics&sprefix=retro+bit+tri%2Celectronics%2C323&sr=1-3) or the Hori Switch Battlepad (https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B01AD478L6/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&condition=used).
I hope this helps, happy speedrunning ;)
ok, I think I have it. I was replying to you, on my screen your username is dan_h
Well i just beat it- and accidentally loaded a save state and lost it XD. I am getting a lot better though, cant wait to start doing runs!
Hello! I am new to speedrunning this game and want to start timing runs, but It is taking me a while to beat the special cup 100cc. Is there a way to unlock 150cc so I can start doing runs before I beat special cup?
So, you start pressing B before the green light shows up? I thought that the visual cue was to start it as soon as the light turned green. If this is a stupid q I apologize, I am very new to speedrunning this game.
Does anyone have any ideas on how it could be replicated/used? Im pretty sure it requires lag frames so maybye not in runs
i believe it was lakitu, but It has the X over the camera icon, like when you are entering and exiting doors?
Pressing c down before landing in the water and then holding it while entering the sub area gives you the angle, but somehow it got glitched and maintained the angle.
