There are some good thoughts here for sure, I'm writing everything down bullet point style for the devs to look at Monday :D
One question though (cause I can't really test it with admin perms) What does one IL section look like when comparing the old/new layouts? Cause I just realized, comparing the two IL screenshots @Adamo posted - it seems like the new one actually shows more runs? (9 levels vs 4)
Could just be that it's a different profile though?
All good ideas :D
Also just had one and want to hear thoughts on it -
What if you could press a button to group together games under a series? I'm not sure how exactly it'd work as far as where it puts the "groups", but personally I'd find something like this handy. Anyone else have thoughts on that?
Drag and Drop would be great, yeah - I'm just thinking about the runners with literally thousands of runs or even games sometimes like https://www.speedrun.com/user/TRLittleToaster who has 2300 runs right now lol
Even with drag and drop that's probably impossible to manage
@Riekelt RE: the annual launch special price
Talked to the team and got confirmation we wont suddenly increase price at any point. If you buy with the annual launch price, you will lock in that price moving forward. As for how long this promotion will be running, I'm not sure but at least for the next week or two.
@bold you can express your opinions freely, but don't spam the forums with humongous images.
@Riekelt & @survivalMichi Other payment methods are currently being discussed, I'm not entirely sure what we can do but at the very least we can look into supporting PayPal - I'll also bring up iDeal with the team. It's not something I've heard of, but it seems relatively common that Germany and the Netherlands have these payment issues so I don't necessarily see a problem with supporting proprietary payment systems for those countries that are having issues.
Also @Riekelt, as an OG Donor you should have some amount of complimentary Supporter in https://www.speedrun.com/user/Riekelt/settings/supporter_subscription if you want to claim it :D
A Supporter only section for the Discord is also a discussion worth having given the amount of requests we've had for it over the last day or so, for sure
As for annual special, I'm not entirely sure but I just asked so when I get an answer I'll come back here and let ya know :)
I think across the site we want to implement a drag and drop system at some point if at all possible. Not sure how large that is in scope, but I imagine it would certainly take some time. I also think maybe a "search and move" system could work? Like if maybe each game in the list had a number associated with it, and you could just move the game in slot #9 to slot #4 or something like that.
Not sure, just tossing my thoughts out there :D
Anything that's ever been submitted to the Support Hub Feedback or Bug Reports section has been documented by me, and then I compile it and send it off to the development team - the thing is though is that things take time :D Especially with Speedrun.com, the battle for performance and the need for constant infrastructure improvements definitely means we can't push out things as often as we'd like.
@ND606 I appreciate the detail, lots to unpack here! :D I'm gonna respond one by one.
- Boosts
That's a valid concern about boosts. We've discussed previously about the name "boost" and its implications - the idea is that you're boosting a communities experience by sharing your own ad-free experience with others. That said, we know the word "boost" can also have other implications - definitely a conversation worth having.
- Profile UI when enabling new Beta Features
I appreciate that you shared your thought process here, because this will help us out a lot when investigating potential improvements in that area. The idea to swap the position of time and rank has actually come up already internally - so chances are that's likely going to be put in place.
- Leaderboard UX/UI
I suppose just see my message above this one, as I think that's pretty applicable here :D
Leaderboard UX/UI improvement is definitely a conversation thats popped up pretty frequently internally - I can't confirm anything yet but just know we're aware of everyones concerns in this area and leaderboard improvements (as well as new/improved mod tools) are a high priority.
This is actually just a bug that's popped up a few times today, would you mind linking your run here? We're collecting all the problematic runs to see if we can pinpoint the issue and solve it :D
As for the bottom section, that's solid feedback! I'm compiling a document with everyones feedback today (and in the coming days) so that we can review as a team and see what we can implement
