Well, pretty much all the games I play are almost exclusively platformers, and I don't use steam, so my advice might not be very good, but something generic that applies to everybody is to run games that you enjoyed casually.
For Karting games, I recommend the mario kart games, but those aren't available on steam. A popular game right now is "Jelly Drift" which was made by a popular game dev who also created another one of the most popular games on this site, Karlson. Jelly Drift is a racing game made in unity that has a very active community right now, so I'd recommend that one.
Unfortunately, that's all I can do.
@thegoodjakeward that is intended behavior. The pending actions section is for your pending actions, including runs and game requests. The "runs awaiting verification" section is for runs submitted to games you moderate.
Yeah, I assumed it was because of what @Liv said, before it was changed, there was a bold line at the top that said something like 'dont message me anymore im not staff anymore please"
I signed the petition
it forced me to sign a bunch of random petitions before I could sign it but I did
Yeah, I didn't mean to be hateful, and I'm very sorry if I came off that way. It's just that we've already had two recent incidents of people spamming self promo, so to see a third example just made me feel exasperated. Again, I'm sorry if I was rude.
@Sandstorm187 Seydie is definitely not looking for games, and there was no point in continuing this thread. Posting on one thread is enough, please don't promo on more than one.
@Sandstorm187 that isn't related to what the thread is about. Please stay on topic and try not to interject whatever game you're promo-ing into every conversation
you've already promoted the game in at least 5 other threads. Everyone who is interested has already seen your post multiple times
Seriously stop spamming
Depends on the community, but it's common practice to submit video evidence for all runs. Make sure to read the rules, and if you have questions, ask in the game's forum or discord. You can also upload videos to twitch, however make sure that before you stream attempts, opt in to vod saving, otherwise the video will be deleted as soon as you end stream. Also make sure to highlight the vod so it does not automatically delete after two weeks. Do not upload runs to streamable, because they delete videos after 3 months unless you pay for their service. You can also upload/stream on nicovideo or bilibili, but I don't know much about those and can't give advice.
Edit: I should have said this in the original post, but I highly recommend you use twitch or youtube. They are the most common, and in my opinion, easiest ways to record and upload runs. Because of how common and popular they are, there are tools for them that can be used for framecounting and retiming runs without downloading the video, which means that it will be easier and quicker for mods to verify your run.
We literally told you to stop the self-promo multiple times, and when you read that you decided that the best course of action was to self-promo again?!
You need to be more specific, otherwise we won't be able to make informed recommendations. Do you like glitch heavy games? Do you like platformers, RPGs, combat games? What consoles do you have? Do you have money? Without answers to questions like these, people will just recommend whatever game they like to run, and the odds of finding a good game in that mess will be next to none.
You're allowed to talk about off topic things here, but you have no intentions of actually doing anything of value on this site. There are many, much better places to advertise. I'm sure you can find several subreddits, discords, or literally any other place than here. Self-promo is against the site rules, and can result in a permanent ban.
Did you really have to make an account just to promote your youtube channel? I looked at the comments and you apparently posted this on reddit as well. I get wanting people to see something you worked hard for but this is a speedrunning website, and if you don't want to do speedruns why are you here?
