User makes an account, waits for a month, and then posts this? I don't believe that. This is 100% a bot. They have no runs, posts, or socials.
I've seen people add separate categories for versions of the game that aren't playable, such as playing smb special on original hardware, and those categories are archived, but I've never seen a board solely for archival purposes, and especially not when the game is still accessible
Depends on the mod. The site rules say that you are allowed to reject runs that are clearly not making an effort to go fast, but other mods may verify it just because it's funny I guess. I wouldn't submit anything until you do an actual run. Then, even if the time is slower than everyone else, it's still a speedrun that is worth putting on the boards.
#Level 12 In the world record run, DeamLinX Opens the top right chest first, then the left chest, then the bottom right chest. It's faster to open the left chest first, then top right, then bottom right. After getting the sword, jump over the ledge to get more falling speed, and you can hit the wall and immediately double back to get to the chest. Then get the top chest, and do another jump down to hit the wall and get the bottom chest. (If I'm not explaining well I can get a video) #Level 13 After getting the sword, you have to run down some stairs. When you get to the bottom, there's a small ledge that you normally have to walk on before you hit the wall and turn around. You can hit the side of this, saving about a second. Just like in level 12, you have to jump to get more falling speed. Jump over the last two ledges in the stairs and you can do it.
catwatch and yeahimthatdude complained about the inclusion of trans women in the spotlight article. They were obviously trolling; both were brand new accounts.
@Lieutenant_Boo that reminds me of a few scenarios in a few games that I don't moderate, but saw screenshots of
Some guy submitted a 59 second no video run to the Mario Kart 7 Leaderboards, the world record is 1 hour and 18 minutes
Some guy submitted several no video world records to the SM64 category extensions (and got banned from the site)
Some guy submitted a 1:00:35 any% run to the smo leaderboards that was a reupload of an obsolete run from another top runner. They got rejected, and then a bit later on the SAME DAY, they reuploaded the SAME RUN, AGAIN and submitted it.
There are very few women in gaming as a whole, so highlighting some prominent women speedrunners isn't a bad idea. There also isn't an article that highlights "4 black speedrunners" anywhere on the site, unless you mean Bobby Cruz, who was not featured because he is black, he just happens to be black. Either way, there is no leftist propaganda on this site. Also your post implies that women and black people can't have long lists of achievements in speedrunning.
Edit: Just read the Bobby Cruz article and it does not mention his race anywhere.
"Corruption exists. Even among fun, innocent speed running."
But this is like, a 1/10M thing. This probably has maybe happened, like once or twice in the entire site's history, and probably any of those times (if they even exist) haven't been caught. Assuming that 65th isn't a good place on the leaderboards (unlike MC and SMB1), having higher proof standards for those people is completely unnecessary.
I mean, there would be no reason to suspect the run is fake, so I'd just verify it. I think that forcing everyone to use a camera would be stupid.
Getting enough end crystals to kill the dragon would be very hard to do, because you need ghast tears (very rare and slow to farm) glass, which requires smelting sand (which is slow) and eye of enders, and once you have eye of enders you want to be heading to the stronghold. You would need several extra blaze rods and pearls. I don't even know if you can one cycle the dragon with crystals, but it would only save at most like 2 seconds in 1.9+, and you can't craft end crystals in 1.7, so this strategy is pointless.
