I made a spreadsheet here for the Top 100 players at the end of every year, 2002-2018: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1tWwgIJ1kIyy7XtYsqGEJsiI1ERYLMl41B9i4eBDgdg4/ You can also use the spreadsheet as historical leaderboards.
I want to ask what runs should be added. There's a few on Twin Galaxies pre-SRC, plus there was 5:06 tied WRs along with some others mentioned in a TG article, and there could be some early PBs not on SRC. Also what point system should we have? I don't want to punish early players who became active, but without a point decay they would probably all be on top, with AndrewG winning by a landslide. Maybe an adjustment for years before the game reached 100 players?
I made logarithmic point values, or we could go with the-elite.net points (100 for 1st, 97 for 2nd, 95th for 3rd, 1 less point for each place after that)

I don't mean date format in user settings, that doesn't change it on the main leaderboard pages. How would you view all the times as dates instead of by how long ago it was? That would make it easy to view runs by each year.
Mario Kart time trial leaderboards (not on this site) don't require video, but you better have video proof for world records. Some games don't need video proof over a certain threshold.
Out of the games I play, I would say Racing Extreme is pretty anti-speedrunning. It is a racing game, but there is no drifting, so most of the good times are from good lines on the road. The AI's rubber banding is extremely strong, so getting 1st place at all in 2 of the 5 tracks is difficult, and first place has never been achieved on one track. The rubber banding is so strong, it's actually beneficial to have a low rank as it makes you faster. So at a top level you hope for RNG to give you a low rank for as long as possible. We still went through with it for a few months, but now there's no active players.
@NickySteingraber Underground Rooms: 1-1 Coin Room A 1-2 Coin Room B 2-1 Coin Room A 3-1 Coin Room C 4-1 Coin Room D 4-2 Coin Room E 5-1 Coin Room E 5-2 Swim Area A 6-2 Coin Room E, Swim Area B, Coin Room D 7-1 Coin Room A 8-1 Coin Room B 8-2 Coin Room E
Note that underground rooms are only in the first or second levels of worlds. You can do all 3 underground sections of 6-2 in one life.
@2q expired invite?
I know ILs won't be here but I want to know what the records are like
Can Super Obama World be added to Mario Fan Games? Asking here since the series has no moderators. I would call Super Obama World a mix between a political parody and a Super Mario World parody.
edit: thanks!
Voting has ended. Merge Hard subcategories into the normal subcategory.: 7-0 unanimous pass Remove 1.0 categories.: 9-0 unanimous pass Remove All Cheats.: 9-0 unanimous pass
In the following days I can enter in any hard runs and add the difficulty variable for full game, move 1.0 runs to a spreadsheet, and remove All Cheats.
Update: SMB Any% NG+ No Level Select is now a Misc. category.

I know it's originally a Teletoon show but the game is on Cartoon Network's website and Cartoon Network was the other major station for the show. This is also the first Total Drama game on the site as far as I know.
Play Toxic Targets here: https://www.cartoonnetwork.com/games/total-drama/toxic-targets/index.html
Yeah I think most of them allow anything as long as the timer is running. But I think some allow breaks. Plus it's not really healthy to sit and not move for many many hours.
Or run webgames! There's plenty of great ones and they're free. If you're on desktop a lot then you can just open it up in your browser and play away.
Oh, so that's what order they're in. it would be cool if they had the sorting modes from your followed games and the site's games.
Chompster and Super Mario Bros. Crossover are both webgames.
edit: Thank you!
Hello there! Sorry to hear that you played without level select. I think NG+ No Level Select has been suggested before. You can go to our Discord in the sidebar and go to #category-suggestions to talk about it more. If you show us the video and there is interest for it we might add it. Just keep in mind that this game has a lot of subcategories that with no runs, which is a problem we're trying to combat now.
Hello everyone, I'm your new moderator, Meester Tweester! I was asked to be on board to help fix some of the issues with the leaderboards. As a Day 1 post as moderator, here are some of the things that will change, or change in the future.
New rules:
- WR runs need video proof. Top 3 runs for SMB1 Any% and SMB1 Any% NG+ need video proof due to their popularity. While not needing to record is convenient, it runs into issues in modern speedrunning. There have been cases in the past where some runs have not been timed properly, and without a video we can't check that. Plus, anyone can claim they got a WR or top time without proof, which allows for cheating. This rule will be effective tomorrow, July 17th, 2019. Any runs before the date will currently remain on the leaderboards.
- Emulators are allowed. Using a Flash player instead of using a website usually has no issues for webgames. Technically they aren't emulators since they are running Flash, not emulating it. You can still check the Emulator box if you run from a Flash player. Plus, Flash is shutting down literally next year.
- Also, I added in World 9 for ILs to complete Lost Levels.
Issues being put up to a vote in the Discord: I am putting these up to a vote since these are more drastic changes and I want people to voice their opinions on the matter if they want to. These will be up to vote for a week, so it will end on July 23rd, 2019. You can join the Discord on the sidebar or here: https://discordapp.com/invite/Sze2JTH React with thumbs up or thumbs down to vote.
- To show how popular each category is, I counted the sum of players in each category. Sum of players means you can be counted multiple times for multiple characters. You can see which ones have few or 0 runs.
- Merge Hard subcategories into the normal subcategory. Let's face it, lots of subcategories in this game are empty. We can merge categories together and add a difficulty value so you can still sort by only Hard difficulties (or Normal or Easy). The Kaizo Pack will be moved into All 3 Level Packs.
- Remove 1.0 categories. Adding 1.0 is a little much, especially since only 2 people have ran it for full game. We can stick to only the current version.
- Remove All Cheats. It has 0 runs, and the grind for one run of the category would be incredibly long. It can always be suggested and added back in later if there is enough interest.
- If these pass, the idea is to have the following 11 categories for full game: SMB1 Any%, SMB1 Warpless, SMB1 Any% NG+, Lost Levels Any% 8-4, Lost Levels Warpless 8-4, Lost Levels Any% D-4, Lost Levels Warpless D-4, Special Any%, All 3 Any%, All 3 Warpless, and All 3 All Stages.
- Any runs in a removed category can be recorded onto a spreadsheet for preservation.
Issues: Here are some other noted issues we can go over in the future.
- IL timing is inconsistent
- A ton of IL categories with only a few with runs
- Some runs are not reviewed properly
I'd like to thank Daravae for this great opportunity. I will help the community lead these leaderboards in the right direction.
