Testings were made with the usual 4xFDS settings on, and substantially faster loading times were detected. Additional tests were performed with the toned down 3xFDS, and the emulator was still faster than previous builds with 4xFDS.

Based on the information gathered, it was decided by the moderation staff, for the sake of the leaderboards' consistency, that DuckStation version 0.1-7928 upwards must not be played with the FDS setting turned on. Should emulator runners wish to play with the endorsed 4xFDS setting, they must use the 0.1-7878 version or prior.

Emulator runs allow the simulation of a negCon controller. A negCon has much better handling than a Dualshock 2, so it should substantially improve your times. Select negCon in Duckstation's controller settings and map your pad's keys there to match your preference, if you desire.

PRC Terrazi runs are also eligible in the Category Extension Alternative Any%. If you wish, you can also submit your run in that category as well. You can find the Category Extension link in Ridge Racer Type 4's leaderboards - there are several different categories available there.

Please feature in your next submission the results screen containing all of the laps times. I couldn't tell if you got the submitted time in your VOD, and had to guess it was gotten in the final lap, since you skipped the footage from crossing the finish line to the new record screen.

There isn't a rule that enforces audio proof, just video, so the run is legal.

Hello there.

NeGcon not only offers more precision than a Dualshock, but it has a different bios altogether. The game reads more inputs with it than it does with a dualshock, hence acceleration and handling are substantially improved.

Emulator runs allow neGcon emulation, so if your emulator has the neGcon bios, you can button-map its keys with the ones of your controller of choice.

The following categories that were present in Ridge Racer Type 4's main game leaderboards have been transferred over to Category Extensions:

ALL SPECIAL MACHINES, ALL 20 MACHINES, GRAND PRIX TIME ATTACK, and TIME ATTACK GRAND PRIX.

Accordingly, all runs previously submitted were carried over to their new boards, in R4: Ridge Racer Type 4 Category Extensions.

The reason the Ant Medabots weren't targeting your counterattacking bot is your left arm. You were using Battle Rifle, which is an Aim Shot part. Dragon medal targets medabots that are equipped with Shoot action parts. In which case, you would have to equip either Noctobat's or Warbandit's left arm, as they are Shoot, not Aim Shot. Kappalord's left arm also works, but it's unlikely we'll have it at that point of the game.

Run verified. Be careful, however, with this category's rules, as they say that showing the results screen of Shooting Hoops is necessary.
