Activating zed time always has been in most cases to begin with that is why many ppl prefer to use classes that trigger it less like Beserker or Pyro as examples.
Tho zed time can bring certain advantages of its own at the cost of time especially with classes that take full use of the mechanic.
First of all why is that we should rethink switching timing from IGT to RTA? I think RTA timing would be far better considering how the IGT seems to currently be broken and only adds more time if you have idled or waited any amount of time in an online lobby.
The switch in timing will make things far more precise and regardless if PC version has the same issue or not It will be far better in the long run.
My early thoughts were just purely speculation and only relevant to what the clip was able to show, the fact the the timer is just constantly ticking once the lobby is loaded up in online is just proof that its broken and means that coop run times are inflated and not accurate.
This is actually a very interesting find, this seems to definitely be over site for how the timer should actually be working for coop lobbies, Appreciate you bringing this up.
So from what were seeing once players have started the lobby count down it activates the in-game timer prematurely which could add up to 1 minute and 30 seconds of time towards the final completion time of the match.
Something that definitely warrants some investigation to see if this is also consistent with PC but in any case, This pushes more or less for us to move to RTA timing and not rely on IGT going forward.
The switch from IGT to RTA wont be that much of an issue.
Just a reminder that if you would like to submit a run to try and get those in by the end of 16th. If you need an extension please contact myself or Dark-Aries.
Anyone that wants to attend that is not putting in a submission feel free to contact us so we know who would also like to come out for a good time.
The in-game timer is not suppose to be ticking up until the match starts so I'm not sure what was going on. I've not had or seen this occurrence happen yet. Do you have any actual video showing that that in-game timer was already incremented after waiting in the lobby for extended time when the match went to finally start?
The timer still ticks during Zed Time. the timer never actually pauses until the result screen appears. ( exception is single-player offline mode when you pause the game. )
##Submissions for Launchpad Toronto are now open till February 16th.
These are smaller events between our yearly main event and can highlight runs for upcoming marathons, or just be a get together for speedrunners in their local area. This event is catered towards the speedrunners in the Toronto, Canada area and will be on site. We're aiming for a relaxed atmosphere as its just a hangout with your local speedfriends.
The event begins on February 28th at 6pm EST and ends March 1st 6PM EST. If we get enough submissions the event will run through the night, otherwise we will just run the stream during the day.
The venue is within walking distance of the Brantford Comfort Inn ( https://www.choicehotels.com/en-uk/ontario/brantford/comfort-inn-hotels/cn257 ). The event space will not have anywhere to sleep, so this hotel will be your best bet for overnight accommodations. You'll be given the address of the event if your run is accepted. If you plan to just attend and not speedrun, please contact Mash or Dark-Aries.
Due to the small event space, we are restricting races to 2 on stream console captures. PC races will be denied unless you can bring a gaming laptop yourself. This is due to limited physical space.
There is no attendance fee, but you can pitch $5 towards the event which would be greatly appreciated. All attendees will receive at no cost to them Pizza and Soft drinks on site during the marathon, supplied by Mash.
All Regular rules of NASA events found here at https://nasamarathon.com/rules/ will also apply to this event as well as Twitch TOS while on stream.
If you have any questions or concerns you can contact @MASH or @dark-Aries
Hope to have a great time with this event and meet some new people and share the hobby of speedrunning with others.
Yes, just make sure to highlight/save them if you can or else they will disappear before or after you attempt to submit them to boards. I would also recommend checking with the communities for the games that your interested in speedrunning for more details or help that they may be able to offer on game specific level.
Hard to really pick tbh. MASH , Golden Girls and probably CyberSix are on my top.
99% of people that use the program overlay it on the output feed when stream or recording so nothing new there. And easy enough to do so not really a need for a guide or anything. A bit nifty I admit to being able to show them for personal use on single screen setups.
I've had a discussion with Puma about stances on glitches and exploits, And I will summarize that here.
Glitches and/or exploits that are found to break the game in a manner that achieves an unintended affect or that is deemed problematic at the time should be avoided and banned from submissions to keep KF2 in its most update to date and competitive level which the game is designed to be. Glitches and/or exploits that are later found to be removed from the game that were not already avoided and banned will invalidate runs that use them. Players should always keep this in mind when using new tech that seems to good to be true in a submission to the board. We have had several discussions about these things in the past and it boils down to what the game allows now vs what it does not. So the boards will and should continue to be maintained as such in reflection to the games evolution.
Runs that are using Glitches or Exploits that are pure randomness or likely to be patched dude to how game breaking they are, will be rejected going forward.
Rules for both Boards we have will be updated to reflect these changes.
I think the next think to do here aside from seeing about tiddying this up over here now before looking at other things is to start tracking the bosses that people face during their runs. This will help people see which bosses ultimately really affect the final result time. Tracking the bosses will not be a category on its own just something to track along side Perks for filtering reasons should they want to do so.
The KF1 Board is in need of some remodeling in order to make it easier for people to submit runs to, I'm not sure of the back end of how they have things set up. But hopefully one of them or the others will take the time to update the boards to resolve the issue with needing to request a new level/category each time when they already should be there.
You do not need to spam these messages on the forums since the most of the mods are active, if you need to contact them directly.
All Runs that had a valid video for collectible runs should now all be moved over to the new Extensions Board. If you had a run that was rejected during this process I did indicate the reason to be that it was moved after I manually added them from the information provided from the original submissions. Should there be a question or concern regarding this change or moving of the runs feel free to contact me directly. <3
Celeste community Is supper awesome folks happen to know just a small few but they all are very supportive regardless what else you play.
Man that last set of matches was some good stuff what a long exhausting cast. <3 Can't wait to see who the Final player to make it into top 4 is.
Dying to a mini boss during a tournament match because it just wasn't your day to go in without a sword. I was never prepared for such I'll fate but alas it was a learning experience for myself and everyone. =)

Is it possible to have toggle-able options for Subcategories and Individual Levels to remove the need to duplicate variables that they may not apply to. This is something that would help a great deal of moderators in keeping boards clean when editing them as well as make it easier to add new categories to the boards that may or may not use all subcategories or variables.
Always a 50/50 if i'm going to stream or just record runs. Generally it will depend on the person and mind set at the time, Personally its easier for me to grind runs and just do recordings but it's not as relaxing or fun for me if I'm not streaming.
