I know emulators are banned, but I was wondering if there’s any chance emulators will ever be allowed on the leaderboards or have a separate category like in sm64

Hi I was planning on starting to speedrun this game but then I saw that I can not play games from a usb or sd card which was my initial plan. In other words, I wanted to speedrun on my modded Wii with usb loader as an original copy is pretty expensive and I don’t even know if I am gonna like it and stick to this game. So can somebody please tell me why are these type of games not allowed and if there is any category I can speedrun like this. Thank you all in advance!
