Make sure you are setting Player.exe to compatibility mode and not Setup.exe, then launching directly from Player.exe.

1. Make sure you are running livesplit as administrator on your PC. Unfortunately we don't have an autosplitter yet.

2. Me and Leemyy have never discussed this so for now I'm going to say no. I personally don't like the idea of using a modified version of the game.

3. Perhaps try toggling the vsync option in-game. I seem to remember it being reversed. (i.e. when you set vsync to on it actually turns it off and vice versa.)

4. Seems as though people start timing from the level fade in, but really for accurate IL boards you'd want to ask in the linked discord. There is a much more extensive Chinese IL community that determine IL time from a calculation based on the in-game score.

5. The discord linked here is the main Ballance server, speedrunning this game isn't very active. :(

Besides that there's nothing I'm afraid. Your best bet is watching the top runs and practicing the strats they use.

To address your last point, this is something we talked about a few years ago, but nothing ever materialised. The truth is the RTA community for this game has always been pretty small, which is why we lack things like autosplitters and tutorials. :( It's maybe something that could happen in the future.

Thanks madsen. Pretty weird you're not allowed to edit game titles anymore, I could've sworn it never used to be that way... I suppose perhaps people were requesting games to be added, then when they were added changing the title to something totally different game that SRC site mods might not have approved. Not to worry, it's not irreparable.

I tried contacting madsen via Discord a week ago to add the Switch version as a new game in the series, but he did not accept my friend request. I'm going to try messaging him through speedrun.com to see if he will add it.

I have now added a new variable to display a framerate column beside each run. I've gone ahead and filled out this variable for all of the existing times on the leaderboards. (If I added the wrong framerate for your run, please let me know.)

We have recently made a decision to make a minor change to the game rules. Previously, the rules stated the game framerate must be limited to 250 frames per second or lower; we have now changed this to 240 frames per second.

This was only done as it makes more sense to limit the framerate to a multiple of sixty. Any existing runs with framerates higher than 240 will not be invalidated as a result of this, due to how small an effect it would have on gameplay.

In my 51:06 Any% speedrun I used a program called KeyBinder to bind jump to the mousewheel.

After a brief discussion with Feno it was decided this should invalidate my run, as it would most likely make infinite hover easier. Even though my run didn't use infinite hover, it's only fair to treat it the same as other runs of this category.

I guess you can use whatever difficulty you like, but Ultra Violence is the standard difficulty setting for DOOM speedruns, so I think it would make sense to do the same for Heretic, with Smite-Meister being the equivalent.

In DOOM there's a category called UV-Max which includes getting all secrets as well as killing all monsters. With Heretic being DOOM engine and keeping track of both secrets and monster counts I think we could have some sort of a Smite-Meister Max (SM-Max) if you will.

I might talk to Monkey about creating some new categories so people can still do runs with the updated physics - if that's even possible; I've not played the game since the physics changed.

Perhaps try updating your graphics card drivers? I have no idea whether that will actually do anything, this is far from my area of expertise.

Bit late on this one, but I agree with Jumpy. Cyberscore only tracks ILs for each individual floor, but not each individual world. I think adding charts for individual worlds here would be a good idea, whether they're added as ILs or misc. categories. Could spark some healthy competition in a relatively unpopular game to speedrun.
