It has been brought to my attention that there are some discrepancies with some of the submitted runs, particularly 3 current records of 4. These runs were accepted and approved by another moderator prior to when I filled in the position, so with the information provided I looked into the runs as it was stated they appear to be faster in both movement and in the timer progresses.

After checking multiple runs, the timer counts down in increments of 64 frames, while the runs in question count down at ~46 frame increments. Given the nature of the runs being recorded externally there is some blur to the timer, but the discrepancy of the difference in time is large enough to dismiss it.

Another portion measured and compared was the moment frostbite bailey begins to ascend into the igloo, to the time the sprite reappears for the next level. In the questioned run this segment takes 240 frames, or 4 seconds. The run I compared it to took 338 frames, or 5.624 seconds. It is noted that the comparison run had a 35 on the timer, compared to a 34 on the run in question.

This brings me to another point. On this level the questioned run finished with a 34 showing on the timer, while the comparison run finished with a 35. This shows the comparison run completed the level quicker. The next level has a wider gap with the question run finishing that level with a 30 on the timer, compared to a 34 on the compared run.

Given the evidence found it is clear that the questioned runs are not legitimate as they are sped up compared to normal gameplay. I would typically reach out to the runner in situations of this nature for more information and their side of it, but the account has been banned from the site at some point since submission of the runs. Given the situation no decision is made if this was intentionally done, or the result of improper settings within the emulator or other possible causes. Regardless of intent or not, the decision has been made to remove these runs from the board along with any others that have the same discrepancies.

would there be any interest in opening up a leaderboard for 25,000 points? Started playing around with it just to break the monotony of trying to get that sub 1 minute 5k haha.

I'm not sure at what level exactly (tends to be around 18-20k points) Michael gets another major speed boost, becoming as fast as you. Makes for an intense bit of the final stretch. Figured I'd post here and see if there is any interest and what the opinions are on it.
