It is significantly easier to create a fake run when the run is recorded with webcam. It is also impossible to accurately time the run. It's also not clear video if the run is recorded with webcam. Capture cards do not cost that much. People were linking ones as low as $6-10. If you're interested you can read the whole discussion in the SM64 Discord #lobby channel. You'll have to scroll a lot though.
If you got sub 19 in 16 star, your run needs to be recorded with a capture card, not a webcam.
We are introducing a cut-off rule for webcam recordings, banning submission of times that are: 120 star - Sub 2 70 star - Sub 1 16 star - Sub 19 All runs before today will still be allowed on the leaderboard. This is for future runs.
On top of this, a rule for reset timing is being introduced. Reset timing will henceforth be banned, so only use of the power switch is allowed (only applies to N64 runs) Also, GameShark is not allowed to be used to do runs, whether you have chosen to play the game without codes or not. This means you have to show power on. People were able to use the reset button with the GameShark in which is the main reason reset timing rules are being changed.

Thanks for letting us know. Sometimes runs get through by mistake. It's easy for it to happen with all the submissions we get every day. I have went and rejected the runs in question but as Tyler mentioned, Php's run was before this no audio rule came in.
I mean you don't but it also doesn't take long to upload a picture to imgur.
There was just a kid who commentated over Cheese's 70 WR acting like it was his, even including Cheese's voice (it was actually kinda sad).
Anyone who does or doesn't speedrun could take a pic of a timer they've arbitrarily split and stopped at random points and claim to have a time. Ngl, I feel like it's pretty obvious why screenshots aren't allowed.
Not 4? People have said it was 4 for years and not once has anybody corrected it.
In the future, just submit and carry on with your day as normal. It'll get accepted the same day or the day after majority of the time.
I could get the "WORLD RECORD" for getting a certain number of stars but only allowing certain ones right now but no one would take it seriously, nor would I and nor should anyone. A person doing 1 run of something uncontested is completely irrelevant whether you're so adamant to give it the title of "WORLD RECORD" or not.
"Wow they don't allow BLJ in 70 star for perfectly valid reasons? I better do a run including them just so I can get a WORLD RECORD!"
For single star you still need the lag counter code but yes single stars don't. They can't just have any codes you want on though.
Here's a document that caught out one of the old 16 star "WRs" which shows the importance of game audio. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rnNAlPztsCP5OLK4pBBuqLQIQnB990uP6oG8DWz1Yxs
Worth mentioning BLJ was found in 2000, not 2003
Check the resources section and then click the SM64 Resources Google doc, it's already on there
How bad are your specs that you're worried about a low CPU low bandwidth usage game on 2 accounts?
I mean I'm not really against that, to be honest. It'd make it significantly more annoying having to create 2 accounts (although only 1 of which will need the authenticator set up so it's not AS bad) but I definitely have agreed with this belief in the past like I believe things that Banjo Kazooie the time should start before they start doing the glitch to get all of the moves unlocked.
