Wow, I didn't know about that glitch, thanks. That's some pretty awesome stuff.

The only problem I see with 1.07 is that it includes 1.05 as well which patches the engineer glitch, which could make some missions faster, but sure it's definitely worth testing. The last Scrin mission takes an eternity.

Uhm since when did the estimate for Metroid Prime 2 Echoes go down to 1:40 ? I'm confident that I will get it below that, but there are a few things out of my control that can easily wreck my run, which is why I went with a very save 1:50 estimate just in case really everything goes wrong. Other than that I'm fine with it OpieOP

Regarding the schedule: If all 3 of my submissions are still in I would prefer to have some time between my runs, so I can do dedicated practice for each game, as it's too difficult for me to be on point for all 3 games at the same time.

regarding Digimon World 4, it seems to be 60 fps. There are various methods to get the framerate of a game from using google up to measuring it yourself with an ingame timer or just basic movement and comparing on emulator or just by looking of smooth the video looks.

I guess I will bring my 2 copies of PAL GX and a PAL GC myself then. Just to make sure we don't run out ;)

Generally it is very useful to have an indication on whether you were too early or too late for any of the frame perfect inputs, which should be the first thing you should figure out. After that yeah you should practice the timing just a lot until you have it in muscle memory. If there is something restricting you to try the trick multiple times in a row to practice it ( like health ammo or something ), then using savestates on emulator or cheatcodes may be a better option for practice. Also does this game run on 30 or 60 fps ? If it's 30, then it should be very doable. If it's 60, then well have fun practicing a lot.

Just a little question: How is the equipment over here btw ? Are there enough GCs, N64s etc. and F-zero X/GX copies ?

The Metroid Prime series works pretty much the same, there are save stations all over the place, but still using savestations cost a few secs and it sometimes ends up in some long segments, because there is no convenient savestation nearby.

the reason why there aren't many segmented runs here is simply because they are not as popular nowadays and most games don't really allow for a segmented run. Most people just want to run the game as a whole rather than playing one segment over and over to optimize it to the fullest, which is actually a bit sad, because it is really good practice.

so regarding my games:

F-zero GX: I haven't done a lot with this game recently, but I am still in shape to get quickly back to my former peak for a good run showcase for any category. I am practicing this game now for the F-zero marathon.

Fast Racing Neo: I did ILs for almost all of the tracks, though some of them already use outdated strats. Also if you want this to be a single run instead of a race, pick DivisionX over me, as he is the better runner as one can see on the IL leaderboards for example.

Metroid Prime: I finished a lot of research which comes in handy for movement optimization, which is what I'm working on now. I'm confident that I can get sub hour IGT before ESA. Estimate can be lowered to 1:35

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes: I know the estimate is high for having a 1:25 rta PB, but there is a ton of stuff that can go wrong there. I will do the same route as in my PB and if I miss Grand Abyss I will do a wallcrawl which costs 3 mins, but is still better than reloading in a savestation and trying again over and over.

Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars: Estimate can be lowered to 1:15. With more research I found 3 new strats, which save 1 min in Albania, 7 secs on Berne and 2 mins on Ground Zero, which triggers bad ending though, because of using the liquid tiberium bomb:

Thanks to your suggestions I found the cause of this:

I did reinstall Firefox around a week ago with the only difference that I used adblock edge before and now installed adblock plus, which actually removed the follow button. So yeah deactivating adblock solves the problem.

I don't know when that happened, but I can't follow any game or series anymore. The Follow Button is just not there anymore on any game/ series page for me. Also the unfollow button for games I already follow isn't there anymore as well. Has anyone else that issue ? I'm using Firefox by the way.

So I discovered some new stuff:

1. If you pause the frame a transmission appears you can get the pause menu during the transmition and if you let it play out the game will just keep going during the pause screen. You can even change settings during the game plays and if you exit then there will be no sound, but no transmitions will interrupt you. While this glitch is very funny I didn't find any application to it, as you can't give any orders during the pause screen. Also saving during the transmition doesn't seem to cause anything special.

2. This:

So I already knew that you could take over the construction yard with the Engineer if you use pauses to do fast inputs. However I didn't know that losing all your buildings gets you the Liquid Tiberium Bomb (I tought it was only timer based and with that assumption good ending is faster). So Bad Ending is faster than Good Ending, so well that's a thing now. At least the strat for bad ending is pretty cool.

So I tested the any% strats on hard difficulty and it seems like they all still work pretty well. You only need to do a few adjustments to make it more consistent. So I'll list up the important differences I noticed:

-North Carolina Badlands - Casabad: I didn't notice any difference there. Maybe there is more resistance, but the strats worked out without any problems.

-Alexandria: Your Mammoth Tank is not on elite, so it is too weak for the strat I used. The best application is probably to use it to destroy the cranes on the harbour with your infantery and to destroy the HQ via Orcas.

-Cairo: no difference.

-Croatia: I think the enemy builds more firepower on hard, so you need more units to attack the bottom left base. Destroying the top right base with 10/11 Predators still works well.

-Albania: Your Firehawks don't have any veterancy, so you need 4 (I think) instead of 2 Firehawks to destroy one of those buildings. In addition there are more venom gliders and enemies that actually attack your firehawks, so you need to be a bit more careful.

-Sarajevo: You start with 10.000 credits instead of 15.000, so you need more money from somewhere. Other than that it is pretty much the same.

-Munich: There are more enemies attacking including some Annihilator Tripods, so you need to be a bit more careful, but that's all.

-Cologne: Getting your Commando into that building is a lot harder here since your commando only has elite instead of heroic veterancy, there are more enemies in the way and 2 Corruptors are in the way right at the end. So the best strat I could find was to first cross the river with your commando and then go ahead and stay as close to the river as possible to avoid a devourer. As you reach the bridge you can cross the river+bridge with the jetpack and then try your best to get into the building. Alternatively you can build an airfield and make it visible with some aircraft if your commando dies.

-Stuttgart and Berne: no real difference. The strats should still work out perfectly.

-Rome: There are no money crates crates in the middle of the map, so you need to get some money elsewhere.

-Ground Zero: You have one crane less, so you may build up your aircraft a little slower, but it's not that much of an issue.

softmodding your console to bypass region lock for gamecube games should be fine if you are playing on a disk, because then the loads should be accurate. You should still make sure by asking the community for that game though.

in the Metroid Prime community we use IGT and treat runs that reload from saves as segmented runs aka not single segment runs which are the runs listed here. If it is not too hard to get a run without any deaths, which force a reload from a checkpoint, then IGT is viable with only allowing runs that don't reload checkpoints. However if the grand majority of runners can't get a single segment run in that kind of matter then you should definitely switch to RTA. You could still make a segmented IGT category though if that's a thing.
