The original intent of city segments was for them to emulate shorter portions of Any%, but due to constant changes in the route it was impossible to keep the segments accurate. An example was using trucking in Badlands to save time in San Fierro, the Badlands WR was impossible to achieve if you were doing the new route.

This and the fact that almost all of the top runners didn't really care for them made it an easy decision to remove them.

This was added years ago and was dead on arrival :/

For what it's worth, you can just use Steam Achievement Manager to re-lock all the achievements for runs of that nature. It's what most communities use for all achievement runs, but it's kinda a pain in the ass

Ah the irony of a bunch of people who are clearly affiliated all commenting on this forum thread at the same time, and then accusing the mods of favouritism. A cheater used cheats and was banned. They should have been banned originally but got lucky that the mods didn't know at the time. It doesn't matter when he cheated, it matters that he cheated and cheaters are banned just like everyone else. There's zero favouritism here.
