Hello everyone, as you are no doubt aware we've been working regarding the current state of the Momo4 leaderboards, due to the new discoveries about the game thanks to the TAS and a number of players finding RTA viable glitches. After some deliberation we have hopefully come to a solution regarding the leaderboards at this time.

For the next 6 months the leaderboards will remain as they are, however we will be adding a variable for submitted runs. We've decided that we are going to work on two variables at the moment, which will be called "Legacy" and "Unrestricted".

Legacy is for any runs that use the current method of playing the game, as seen on the leaderboards. This is obstensively the "Classic" or "Glitchless" category (Edea Quick Kill aside), and will be set as the default variable since every run on the board to this point will fall under this category. Unrestricted will be for any routes that use new glitches, clips, or zips that have currently been or will be discovered in the future.

You may notice that we have not included a No Major Skips variable. The main reason for this is because we feel that more discussion regarding what exactly a route of that nature would entail is necessary. As such, until a consensus on what exactly that entails they will be considered "Glitched" or "Unrestricted" runs.

We felt that ultimately the main issue regarding the discussion around what to do was a lot of "what if" scenarios, so we have decided that a period of actual collection of data would be for the best in the long term health of the leaderboards. This gives people time to truely explore what new potential routes are available, and indeed will give us information on the staff side as to whether the new glitches are even being run or making a significant impact on the leaderboards. These variables will make it simple for us to split the categories if it is deemed necessary in the future, as well as give us an easy way to sort through the runs during the data collection period.

We hope to see where things progress from here and look forward to revisiting this in a few months. Thank you for your time; you're more than welcome to give feedback to us regarding this decision either in the discord server, or within the thread itself.

I currently don't have any plans for going to AGDQ this time around but I say you should totally go for it. If I somehow find a way to get out there I would totally couch for you, but if I can't then I'll definitely be watching on stream.

Hello, Apologies if I'm posting inappropriately, but I have been running an admittedly very small game by the name of Freedom Fall recently, and due to the fact that the game hasn't been run for the better part of 3 years there is understandably very little activity on the board. There's only one mod for the game and the first run I submitted took some time to be approved, and the moderator hasn't been on the site in over four months, leading me to believe that I would be okay in asking if I would be able to be added as a mod to the board seeing as I'm the only person currently running the game and there is no listed ways to contact the other mod?

I think the main thing is that Gunvolt has an easier learning curve due to his fairly straight forward play style. Beck has some kind of weird movement options since he doesn't get double jumps like Gunvolt, rather he dashes instead. Also Gunvolt kind of has a reputation in these games of being the more popular character since the original game he had the fastest times so by extention had the most runners. If you want to run Beck don't let the lack of runs stop you, we would love to see them :D

reviving dead topics is cool right? Because it seemed pointless to make an entirely new thread, and this seemed to be the most appropriate place to do so. I've been toying with the idea of a NG+ category and decided to make a sort or proof of concept/discussion starter video on the possible routing and the like. my time is pretty terrible but I was really just trying to get a deathless run to record and post.
