From what I saw they're only going to bring back the "2 missed skill checks" = death if there's only two survivors left alive, which isn't changing the times enough to revert our changes. I didn't hear anything about bringing Kobe attempts back.
Anyway, we keep you updated on our community discord server about possible changes and how we're going to implement them if needed.
We still need to update the rules, but the dbd devs changed a lot of things in patch 9.0.0. We will change them at some point, but because we archived the leaderboards our workload got a lot bigger. A lot more runs got submitted and we constantly get messages about the rule changes.
Without luck offerings you can't attempt to unhook yourself and two missed skill checks in the struggle phase does not automatically sacrifice you. These mayor changes made most of the old WRs pretty much unbeatable, which is why we archived ALL killer runs prior to patch 9.0.0. Runs after patch 9.0.0 with luck offerings will (for now) be moved to the archived killer leaderboard. Runs without luck offerings will be added to the current killer leaderboard in their respective subcategory (normal, adept or load out).
Thanks for your suggestion.
We currently don't support 2v8 or other limited time game modes, because they change drastically every time, especially 2v8. It would be a nightmare to balance/check these runs.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We're going to discuss this internally and get back to you.
I translated your message with Google lens, but I can answer your question. We don't implement new categories for events, because these events change drastically every time. Especially 2v8 keeps adding new roles, abilities and killers so it would be a nightmare to balance/verify.
@Leman1 That's not true. You just have to be close to them for a few seconds, after that you get the achievement and it transforms, then disappears.
@Kais there's really not much to explain. On Yamaoka you can find hidden tanukis at the edges of the map, which then explode after you came near them. The timer would need to start at the start of the match and the timer would need to end when the tanuki is fully disappeared.
Would be easy to implement, but it's highly RNG based (just like the glyph categories) and you don't really do much besides running around the edges of the map to find it.
Yes, the dbd speed running community is still active and the wr in the most prestigious category (tutorial% survivor) just got beaten a few days ago, so it's also still very competitive.
There's no category to submit this to. If you want a new category added you need to talk to the mods. Easiest way to reach them is the DbD SpeedRun discord.
16 hours would be the optimal scenario. You double pip every match and have short queue times and quick matches.
I think we're entering the debate if speedruns of possibly more than 24 hours are healthy.
In an extremely optimal scenario we're looking at 16-20 hours grind in a single session. l can only speak for myself, but that sounds like a horrible experience. I think a part of the appeal of DbD speed running is that the runs are short and easy.
I don't think that such a run would be seen as valid. Your opponents need to actually try. Kill% runs get rejected all the time for DCs or throwing the game.
Yeah, i get that you have a limited amount of databases, but i think a lot more people would run in a new escape% than in the one rn because the best times are not even close to being beatable
There's already another thread with the same issue and the bug with picking up meg and disappearing happens when you fast vault the pallet. ()
You also changed the Mori (Pre Patch 4.4.1) category into a old category even though you could beat those times. I think its not about if its beatable. Escaping with a key would always been faster than opening the exit, just like old moris usually got faster kills than the new ones.
I agree, my friends and i did a good job (not the best, but it wasn't bad either), but only landed on 21st place. I would run that category more often, if the leaderboard get renewed.
