First of all, I have to think the people who helped me and encouraged me. It really helps me. This makes me remember my teacher once said to me that I was a positive person. I do not want to get affected just because some people do not consider the thing comprehensively. Like other users said to me, what I needed to do is not to pay attention to them. People there keep targeting Pika has bad moderation to the leaderboard so they even demoted Pika from being admin in the server and even laughed / insult them. When Pika turns on computer every day, Pika is scared of the DM from Discord being unkind to him. The hand / leg are always paralyzed when Pika gets unfairly treated when some people do not consider the things comprehensively. My mental health gets heavily affected.

In the beginning, I need to clarify that you should be respectful, kind and fair not only in speedrun community but also around the internet and even in real life. This is the basic manner.

First of all, I believe that the purpose of most people using internet is for entertainment and relaxing. I think that it is important NOT to create negative experiences for other people. In short: treat others the way you would like to be treated. Specifically, there are many different kinds of people on the internet. Everyone has different opinions on same thing. It is very important to respect other's opinion. For example, even though you may think someone's action is meaningless. However, you need to learn that there is a reason for everything. Even if it might seem pointless to you, it may have some special meaning to them. Do not comment on someone if you do not know the things comprehensively. Misunderstanding someone will make them feel bad, which can be avoided. Being respectful is very important. Right? Try to understand their point of view.

Secondly, no one is perfect. It is unnecessary to deliberately magnify someone's mistake. But it does NOT mean do not tell someone if they made mistake. However, instead of critiquing, I think it is better to remind them nicely. Critiquing so hard will affect someone's mental health so much. Also do not look down someone's ability. Do not judge a book by its cover. Again, do not comment someone before you have known the things comprehensively.

Thirdly, be fair to everyone. If you are fair to everyone. people will respect and trust you. Fairness is important. It takes place in all our lives. Fairness is very important in building a good community. Fairness is It is not only making sure that everyone is treated the same. It encourages, respect, responsibility, leadership, trust and a life that matters. All of these things affect a community.

For me, I met speedrun first time when I checked tutorial for a kirby game I remembered. At that time, that is the first time I find that how wonderful is speedrunning is! Looking at the people playing a game is very exciting.

I started speedrunning 1 year ago when I saw a YouTuber I always watch speedrunning games which made me want to speedrun the games.

I straight talk please give some space to the potential mod farmer. As I am one of those people, I know the feeling. I also want to say no one is perfect.

First of all, I need to clarify this time, the incident among another user and me may be counted mod farming. But before that, I need to guarantee that every obscure games I have ever speedrun is just my hobby and it is funny to speedrun some underrated games. I do not understand why a lot of people think I always mod farmed before, after this incident. But being always critiqued is not very comfortable to me. I want everyone to leave some spaces to me and other people get mod banned.

"There's a reason for everything, even if it might seem pointless to someone else, all that matters is that you find it interesting, or you yourself find some meaning within it." This was said by one of my speedrunner friend. I need to clarify that I do not moderate leaderboards for being "cool" or "popular". I moderate those games because those underrated games were not in speedrun.com originally. One of my purpose of moderating those games is to let more people know those games exist.

I think I need to rest because not only I keep being critiqued by many people which made my mood very bad but also irl stuff. I think everyone speedrun just for fun. I think it is not necessary to critique anyone that hard. I also think my mental health gets affected because of it.

Dear speedrunner in communities, I am Pika, a speedrunner. I am writing on my behalf. I know this letter may not do anything but I want to share my current thought about speedrun.com.

First of all, I agree that speedrun.com hasn’t taken any community suggestions. Even they will have an update on moderation tools which were always asked by communities before, so what? They are not even released now. We do not even know if they will update it in the future. Even more, elo hasn't listened to the community of previous layout update too.

Compared to another underrated speedrun website, even some of them are centralized in moderation, they also listen to community opinion. In SRC, there is one obvious example, everyone knows speedrun.com has banned PVP-related leaderboard. But Is it what the community wants? You can see there is contradictory between site rule and what they do sometimes too. In the beginning, I think that SRC would listen to more opinions from communities after the acquire of elo. I wish they will listen to different kinds of people in different communities.

Also, some people said that it is good to have advertisements in SRC to pay some people for working in SRC. It is understandable to have advertisements in general but at least please do not break the layout.

I do not know if this thread will be deleted. It is not hating message for SRC. But this is the fact of SRC now. There are many things I haven't mentioned in this thread/letter as I do not want it to be too down to read. I am not natively English so sorry if there is any grammar mistake.

I do not know if it is possible but I want to find some chinese speedrunner to make a community. Because not all chinese speedrunner are good at communicating with English, it is better to talk or ask about speedrunning in their native language. I hope it will work.
