I tried to donwload the ips patch, but when I try to open the zip file file explorer just gives me an error message. Has anyone else gotten this bug? Do you think it's a problem with the file?

@Gamer525125 but then you'll be at a disadvantage. Always use the best seed in set seed categories, except for when the best seed requires advanced techinques to do the route. In that case there will be a different beginner seed that is still very good.

Thanks. For the first pipe jump in 8-1, I use a visual cue of the first short tree after the goomba trio. I full jump from that and it sets me up nicely for a back lip jump.

@Gietie thanks, I'll definitely watch that video. @Miniland I feel that I'm not very consistent at staying on the right framerule without pipe jumps. I will try that though.

I've spent multiple hours practicing the pipe jumps. I kind of meant alternate ways or audio/visual cues.

I'm currently learning any%, and I'm having a lot of trouble with 8-1. I've found a visual cue for the first pipe jump but the second one (the one that despawns a goomba) is very inconsistent. Is there anything that I can do to improve my consistency? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

i think it won't be added because it's just too repetetive. Step one: get iron pick. Step two: spend 3 hours mining in a square pattern. Boom, done.

No, there is a difference between 1.3 physical and 1.3 digital.

Not saying you would fake runs, but that would be very suspicous and would probably be rejected becaue it would be extremely easy for you to play back a TAS instead. Especially if you are talking about sub 5 already.

I've seen the ones on the category extensions. I may have an idea though. What if the advancements were ILs on the category extensions board? Some of the category extensions are only a few seconds long anyway. The achievements could also have ILs.
