Was there ever any luck on the splitter?

As far as I can tell the movement is linked to an oversight in mouse and keyboard controls, since using a controller you aren't able to move around nearly as often in cunscenes. Not sure what else you could use it for but hey, that's what experimentation is for.

Could be, perhaps he did a practice run in basement before resetting to do his run, or just did two runs back to back and that somehow did something. One more guess for the guess pile, it could be a problem loading in all the objects for the room, perhaps it tries to load everything in that section and somehow forgets to make the door. Not sure how to go about testing all these but it'll be interesting to see if someone figures out a solution, or just if it happens again at all.

Usually on a completed file or otherwise after I've finished the basement. The door is supposed to remain sealed but sometimes isn't there. As for the save thing I was more suggesting it might have to do with having a completed file in a different slot but again that's a complete shot in the dark.

I remember that run, really weird moment. I think it either has something to do with savefiles or it could possibly be related to another glitch in basement that I've noticed. Sometimes when wandering around in the basement I've noticed the king's door just isn't there, not sure what triggers it but it's not too uncommon.

Yeah, it'd be nice if there was any way to skip but I'm not seeing that happening anytime soon. A shame because it's probably the worst part of the run even though it's a good part of the story.

I'd honestly prefer if the run ended before Lucas but I know that's not really possible. Besides that I think the credits are still a good natural endpoint.

I find it helps to aim a bit off center, towards the side with the doorknob, at least that's what seems to work most consistently. It's a bit weird yes but with some practice you should be able to get through without a delay most times.

As just one more note on the subject, I prefer the mousewheel method over clicking mainly because personally I find it overly strenuous on the wrist to mash through the game and would rather the run be based more on routing and execution rather than simply whoever is able to skip through dialogue the best. If rebinding was allowed I think it would be far more likely that I'd be able to return to actually doing runs.

If it was an autoclicker I'd make an argument for it not being your own input but simply rebinding it to scroll wheel doesn't seem too extreme a change and I've heard of other games such as halflife allowing such a rebind. The only downside is I may finally have to learn to play this game using mouse and keyboard, since by now it's clear that it is a faster control system overall.

I'm not inherently against the idea, partly because there are a few moments where it would slow down the run if you accidentally re initiated dialog with someone. I don't think it's a major enough time save to cause much of an issue.

The sound design is good enough that it should be possible without too much difficulty, well relative difficulty. Definitely something you could do with some practice as long as you knew how to avoid certain possible hangups.

Just got through watching your run and I think it looks like an interesting category to have around. The only thing I might suggest is opening it up to allow any clock to be the starting point since that would open up even more route options.

Depends what the mods say but I don't think there would be a problem, if there is then you could see a few seconds added onto your time.

I'd love to see an example of this type of run since the main problem I see is just how long it takes to reset after each puzzle, that and a couple of the events happening at the very end of the day. I'm not sure if it'll be a good run or not but I can certainly see there being room for it.

I look forward to seeing your runs, as you mentioned there hasn't been a ton of activity lately.

As for run timing, I don't think the first text box is a great place to start timing, just because there's mashing in preparation of it showing up, making it a bit tricky to accurately start a timer then. I'd also personally be against ending the run at "No" since there are still text boxes after that. All this being said I wouldn't mind some more opinions on the matter if someone thinks there is a more appropriate place to break/any other timing suggestions.

Load times seem a bit inconsistent for how long it'll take between selecting a file and the introductory text starting, As a result I don't think it'd be a bad idea to simply start the run as the first note of the song plays. It wouldn't be too difficult to edit the times of existing runs to account for this.
