I second this. I get that people want to be on a level playing field, but a new category should fix that.

If you're worried about cheating; I kind of doubt people would want to cheat on a non-competitive series like this, which, by the way, has ways to cheat on all platforms so that seems irrelevant to me. It's just more accessible to some platforms is all.

I guess you could start setting rules like ban kirby, no riding allies, etc. But I can see how this would turn into a mess, that's alright this just isn't the game for me.

Fair argument, you can lay it out with grouped characters. I see both sides to this.

But personally, I'll have no interest at all with submitting times if I'm going to be restricted to only doing one character. My reason is that I feel like the whole design of guest stars was based around the idea that you could get to play as a variety of characters and play the things that you enjoy. I'll stick to my original point that the guest stars category shouldn't really be the more competitive of the categories and that if you really cared about world records that you should stick to any%.

I know you didn't list it as an option, but I would vote for having a guest stars category and then a sub category for each of the characters. It is a lot, but it would keep things from getting too stale. I'd argue that if you really wanted a highly competitive category that you should stick to any% instead anyways.

Does the Japanese language affect the time at all? I'm not seeing any places where text would affect the speed of the game. I also want to mention that before the game starts you can turn off display tips and the friend ability movie.

As far as the route goes, not sure yet, still learning the game.

Option 1, assuming we can still submit worse times with other characters just for the fun of trying something else.

I just realized you can actually click the joystick in. Well that solves that. Thanks for the advice though.

I'm having trouble getting dashing to work consistently. I can double tap the d-pad, but that's a lot of extra inputs. So my question is; Does anyone have some tips to make it easier?

Like does the pro controller makes it much easier? I'd rather not buy one if it's only a little bit better. Maybe I just need more practice, but it's really annoying when you have to keep slamming the joystick left/right as hard as I can just to get him to dash.
