Update:
this requires you to light the lighthouse and go through pretty much all of clotted avenue to get the third metal box/barrel (unless I'm missing an earlier one or you can duplicate one which I think I managed to do somehow when playing casually) making it pretty slow on top of that you don't get the green crystal and you are not very well equipped for the boss (maybe some upgrade destroys him idk)
I haven't managed to get in to the previous room or in the bridge to get any checkpoints and perhaps meeting a criteria for the boss to actually appear since there is some something we must do or else he just wont appear entering from the left side does not seem possible but there may be some other holes on the right (some way to see the invisible walls and triggers would be amazing for this lol)

Yeah there is Crispy Hexen which I used in my runs but it doesnt let you bind all items so I would recommend this sourceport instead https://github.com/jnechaevsky/russian-doom/ you will need to get hexen.wad and put it in the russian hexen folder, run the setup file to change your settings and you should be ready to go, if you need more information theres a readme file in the documents folder
We wanted to but since ILs use the loadout/level/skills/stats etc from the campaign you would get a very unbalanced experience + the game doesnt allow you to switch your weapon upgrades which means you would need to get multiple maxed saves with the optimal weapons for different levels + before doing an IL you would have to play through a level where you can max out your ammo and health. Long story short its just a mess so we settled with categories that start from a fresh save but they are all multi level.
I use the disk of repulsion text to help me align my self and then just jump and run into the wall if you end up in the room with the monsters you are going too far to the left
Im down to run ILs at some point and limiting resources sounds like the more fun option as long as there is a proper ruleset but I also dont mind max loot to make it different from fullgame
Im pretty positive you can clip the door in recreation with the wrench and clip the elevator with a relocation the forcefield after the tram ride is a different matter though
edit nvm the falling through the floor works while standing aswell
if you use a route that uses the door clip you only miss out on 20 modules (10 from each objective that you skip), to compensate i found that you can take all the modules you normally get with the normal route + 2 and a speed hypo by taking the underground path to the elevator after turning on the power (this is not necesary since you have 2 leftover normally afaik). after that you can grab 6 extra pretty quickly in the greenhouse area + skip getting one agility +12 also with the door clip you can only get duplication after undoing the research skill which kind of limits the speed boosts you use in engineering but at the same time you need less of them overall and you can probably skip some nanites
It's pretty difficult but it can be done although keyholing the door would be much easier and faster but I don't think anyone in the thief community fully understands how it works (atleast based on my experience some doors allow it more than others but i think there is some way to manipulate your chances)
Anyways to do this you need to be standing on a pot of chemicals but you can only stand on it if its not too close to any walls/door, jump on it, crouch swing lean right into the corner (the lean has to touch a wall not the door) and jump at a very small timeframe of the swing animation which depends on how high you look also I think the swing cant hit the chem pot or it wont work. you dont have to clip very deep into the door thankfully because even if you barely clip into it you can lean to the button
