One problem I've ran into while trying to record a crt tv is when you try to retime a run there is a flash at the beginning when the game is loading, making it hard to retime and some of my runs have actually gotten rejected because you couldn't tell when the 400 appeared. The flash shouldn't happen on a flat screen tv though if you are using one.

Even if you used something like the nes max or nes advantage it's still considered a tool since the controller is automatically hitting the A button for you.

We still have to ask mods if this is viable

I was just testing this jump glitch thing and I got a REALLY REALLY high bounce but I fell off the stairs because my game had a bunch of lag spikes for some reason

I guess that would work but I think time should start then you have to warp up there and fall. But depending on how high you get from the jump it might not save time.

In Sneaky's 100% run he mentions a jump mechanic that you can abuse to get launched into the air. Does anyone have a video of what he is talking about?

The lower number is the frame both of your legs leave the spawn point at the beginning. The bigger number is when your leg touches the yellow pad at the end.

Download something called virtual dub then open the video in virtual dub. There are arrows at the bottom the the window so you can go frame by frame. Find the exact frame both of your legs leave the green square then find the frame one of your legs touches the yellow pad at the top. Then subtract the smaller number from the bigger number. And that is how many frames the run is. If that is what you mean by frame counter.

I use something called virtualdub. It allows you to go frame by frame so you can retime. find the frame you leave the spawn point square and find the frame where you touch the yellow pad at the end. Now subtract the lower number from the higher number. Finally, divide the amount of frames you got by the fps you were recording at. for example, my any% run left the spawn point at the beginning at frame 10313. And hit the yellow pad at the end on frame 10442. subtract 10313 from 10442. The answer is 129. Then I divided 129 by 30 since that was fps I was recording at. And 129 divided by 30 = 4.300. So the time of the run was 4.300 seconds. But I submitted it yesterday so it hasn't been verified yet. Hope this helps!

Also I had to bend the pins on one of the Nes's that I was repairing and it works great! Just make sure to not bend them too much or your pin connector will be tight making harder to take out the game but if you do accidentally bend them too tight they will eventually get lose as you take out and put in cartridges.

Or you can try bending the pins on the pin connector if the pins are too lose. If the cartridge comes out really easily that usually means the pins are too far apart and cannot read the game properly. There are tutorials on youtube on how to bend the pins. If you do decide to try bending the pins if that's the issue you can also dip a q-tip in some rubbing alcohol and clean the pins while your at it. Do the same for the game if bending and/or cleaning the pins doesn't work. Or you can do that just to make sure your games are clean. Good Luck getting it to work!

Extra Information: AEPLLG is a code where you can jump mid air and as many times as you want. It's easy for beginners if you aren't trying to get a good time. But if you are trying to get a good time you need to do full fpg. You can do full fpg by doing fpg stair inputs than normal pole inputs except hitting A earlier and you will get full fpg. And there is a pretty consistent fpg setup for every level except 8-1. Yes, there is an fpg setup for 8-2 by buffering a full jump at the start then jumping off the top of the stairs at the right time at the end of the level. WR is 4:55.XXX by me. I forgot the last 3 digits. I know there are already 3 other game genie code category's but I think this one would be cool because it is pretty easy if you are trying to get a decent time. And IMO it is easier than AISSON. That's pretty much all I have to say for this request.
