Hi! I've started running DuckTales on Afternoon Collection recently.

The rules for the category don't seem to specify, must your video proof be recorded when doing the actual run? Or are you allowed to record the in-game playback of your run?

Either works for me personally, I was just wondering.

Hello, new runner here looking to run via Afternoon Collection. (I'm aware this version is its own category) I was just wondering: What exactly makes this version slower? Is it simply clock speed differences? If so, how much time does it lose total?

I was taking a look at Authorblue's WR for this game, and I noticed that his timing starts not when the rules specify it (on hitting start), but once you start Stage 1.

This seems to mean that his 14:17, as it is timed, is 1-2 seconds slower. Does this need to be retimed, or am I missing something?

Hello Moogic, I'm a KDL runner who records with an iPhone. If it would help, I can explain how I personally do it:

So you'll need a place for your phone in a way where it hangs over something, so you do not need to hold it. Once that is set up, simply hold your Game Boy in the view of the camera, preferably as close as you comfortably can. From there, hit record and do your run.

Once you have your recorded run, upload the file onto your computer, and then onto YouTube.

Now, I would not recommend recording on Game Boy to begin with, as the way I do this is a bit uncomfortable. Using one of the approved emulators would be the easiest and cheapest way to do it. Though if you are hard-set on playing on GB like I have been, good luck, it's not easy.

Hi! I'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to this specifically, but I'll try my best to answer.

I actually do run the game on original hardware (a GBA SP specifically), and because of that I just use my phone camera pointed at the screen. It's not preferable, and the quality is subpar, but it gets the job done.

Alternatively, a majority of people here run the game on an emulator, which with recording software like OBS, makes it relatively easy to capture.

If that's not your thing, there's also the Super Game Boy, Super Game Boy 2, and Game Boy Player, all of which allow you to play GB games on your SNES/Gamecube. For those I believe you'll need a capture card? (That specifically I don't know much about, others here would be better at answering that.)

And I can address a few of your questions based on what I know, though there are people with much better knowledge that are sure to comment here.

1. I'm not sure exactly how much Curry Kill saves, but it's been suggested to me that Curry kill isn't necessary at all unless you are going for a top time. Getting it perfectly is tight, and for it to work best you need a specific boss pattern.
2. Can't say that I know much about that, so I'll leave that to someone more knowledgeable to answer.
3. In most places I've looked, people say that boss RNG is completely random and there's no way to manipulate it. At least in my experience, it seems that way. Someone below can correct me if wrong.
