Rough Guide to First Steps, Standard start

Spawn to Wreck

Spawns are slightly random within the drop area. The best place to start this run is at the spot furthest south, as it is then close to a blue crate and closer to the first golden crate.

First priority is getting the basic gear for conducting the run, such as expanding your O2 capacity, carrying capacity, and getting the Construction/Deconstruction modules for the multitool. You should be able to gather all the resources on a single O2 cycle, especially if you can find the nearby blue crate and get lucky with its contents. Inventory space is at a premium at this point so you cannot grab anything more than exactly what you need.

Once you have crafted your gear, and equipped it all, you want to grab at least one O2 canister before leaving, and then head south toward the cliff to locate the golden chest there. As you go you want to place 2 T1 Drills as soon as possible, and then start scattering wind turbines along your path to power them, and gain some overhead for the next stage. Once at the golden crate you mostly just want to grab any iridium for sooner, and the golden seed for later, but also any iron, titanium, or silicon that it may contain.

As you climb the hill towards the wreck the important thing is having base components, and excess silicon, as you will need that for creating heaters, and cannot guarantee crates within the wreck will have any. Make the base near the wreck door, and make at least one T1 heater if you found iridium in the golden crate, and as many others as you can if you got lucky from other crates.
