A full video guide of Any% (Explorer)! [GDQ How to train a speedrunner VOD]

This is the video upload of the tutorial I gave on the GDQ show "How to train a speedrunner" on October 27th 2022, obviously it is a live show tutorial, so it is not going to be a perfect tutorial, but it is a pretty decent full game tutorial of Any% on Explorer difficulty for people to follow! Especially if you are new to speedrunning the game! The strats are all currently up to date with what is known as far as I know!

Arcade Mode IGT Guide

After doing some Battle Scenario runs I got curious about how exactly the IGT of those Arcade Mode levels was calculated since that's our main timing method for the category. Turns out, the answer is a little bit more complicated than I thought it would be. I tested a few different things out, mostly including when the IGT timer actually starts, and what counts and doesn't count towards the IGT timer. The video is mostly the tests themselves, how I conducted the tests, and the results of those tests made clear.

The summary of the results is that the timer actually works differently between Onslaught and Team Battle matches. The IGT starts when you get your first kill in Onslaught, and it starts as soon as you spawn in Team Battles; in neither game-mode does the Character Select Screen BEFORE YOU START THE MATCH count towards the IGT. The pause menu never counts towards the IGT in either game mode, the IGT timer pauses when you pause the game. If you die mid-match and go back to the Character Select Screen in Onslaught, the IGT timer pauses; but in Team Battles the IGT timer continues when you die and go to the Character Select Screen (in my opinion, this is a really important one to remember during a run).

I would say the three most significant things to note for the sake of Battle Scenario runs are that:
- The IGT timer does not start in Onslaught until you get your first kill, so it may be possible in these missions to allow enemies to spawn and gather to you before you are penalized for the time.
- The IGT timer starts as soon as you spawn in Team Battles, so you have to be on the ball and moving once you spawn the first time.
- The IGT timer pauses when you die mid-match and go to the Character Select Screen in Onslaught, but remains counting during Team Battles. So in Team Battles, you want to be especially careful to menu quickly if you die.

Inferno (DLC) Speedrun Guide

I made this video because as it turns out, Inferno is a very complicated level to speedrun and there are a plethora of things that can go wrong in this mission, including run-killing bugs, softlocks, and easy-to-fail speedrun strats. I figured I should document all of the things I discovered about this level and how to prevent all of the levels potential issues, or fix them if they occur. This video also outlines the basic speedrunning strategy of this level and why each action is performed is described in detail.

I hope this helps out anybody looking to run the Resurrection DLC!

Mission 1 - The Cleaner (Optimization Guide)

After shocking the initial rebel with the ID10 unit, you have to activate two terminals to access the ventilation. So, the fastest way to do so, is head directly to the right and activate bother terminals and head for the ventilation. Once inside it is fairly simple, and if you sprint you can get through the shock areas with only one hit to you (not fatal) so go ahead and run through it. After that, you are dropped off into a hallway, if you sprint, take the corner sharp and stay low to the ground, you can actually get under the door before it closes. The guards might kill you but it is a risk. After that you head to the next ventilation area. Once inside go through the first one like normal, but once the vents bend upward you should look straight and use jump (SPACE by default) to go up to the next vent opening. It is interesting to note that the droids' upwards and downward motion is much faster than its forward or backward motion, thus making it more worthwhile to look straight and use jump, rather than point to where you are heading and move forward. Once outside the vent, head for the terminal to remove the lockdown and head to the vent and head to Iden Versio.

	After Iden says "...I will signal for extraction", you are able to use the ID10 to open the door. Once that has been done, you can sprint to the next door past the guards and immediately use the ID10 to open the door (guard take down optional ;) ). After that you have to run and grab the weapon and open the door as fast as possible. Now for the next area, you HAVE to kill all those who are in the next area, otherwise you can't delete the intercepted message. So you can kill the inital three, use the ID10 to open the next door, while he is busy doing so, kill the two annoying rebels that always kill my runs on the walkway. Then run inside, activate the door, knock off the other three rebels while the ID10 is busy, then knock off the one inside and bingo you can do so.
	After deleting the message, you have to grab a gun, then you can open the door. You can run past and ignore all the rebels in the area, once as you get to the next door, use the ID10 on the door, wait a second, then shoot the door behind you (if you don't wait a second or wait too long, the door opening can take 10+ seconds longer). Run through all the areas as fast as possible ignoring as many rebels as possible, make it alive to the next door, use the ID10 ASAP, kill off any rebels, wait for the door to open, sprint to the finish, then congrats! You have officially made a decent run of The Cleaner.

Possible Time Saves?
Find way to glitch through barrier in lockdown. 
Find way to get past annoying 27 second opening door before Iden makes it to the escape pod.
Someone please find a way to skip the dialogue.

Mission 1: The Cleaner

This is your first mission upon starting the campaign. Your character Iden versio a commander of the inferno squad has been captured (is what they think because later on you find out she wanted to be captured) and is asked a question what is her droid activation code she will not answer and the admiral or officer (i not sure which one it was but i think it was a officer) will leave the room as soon as he does Iden will say the activation code to wake her droid up when she does you will come to the droid to a guy that is gonna try to open you up once the droid is fully awake you will have the option to shock him once you do you will start playing as the driod you will first be tasked with accessing the cameras to find Iden they are accessible on two command consoles to your left and right (from what i see is that if you are playing on Xbox one go the left command console and access left camera if you are playing on pc go to the right command console and access the left camera dont know about ps4 version yet) once your done with finding her then go to the vents BUT before you do that if you go to the back of the room and the left side you will find a box that is a collectable, access it and go to the vents follow to the end while being careful of the live timed electric walls that you will see while going though the vents once you are out follow the hallway to the end and access the locked door once you do that wait a few seconds for the rebel to leave the room once just get pass the room and go to the hallway then because there are guards guarding the hallway to her cell so you will have to go back up though the vents once again follow it to the end of it while being careful of the live timed electric walls once you are out you will be in a big room with the ability to scan for enemies scan and avoid them if you go bellow of the big platform you will find a collectible access it and go to the left side with a electric wall you will have to raise it by going to the command console by the electric wall behind it and access it to raise the electric wall if you waited for a rebel to pass it before you accessed it you will have to shock the rebel because the rebel will be investigating it once you done that go to the vents this time you just need to go to the end as that will be Iden's cell once you get to her you will start playing as her. you have to tell your droid to slice the door out of your cell takedown the rebel that is front of you once you do that keep going down until you meet the other rebel to which you have your droid to shock him to keep going until you get the gun then you have two choices go loud or go silent doesn't matter because later on you will have to go loud once you get the gun get to the objective though the (generator room?) also while your in the generator room if you go to the left side and the door to the left is the final collectible for the mission then you once you get pass the generator room you will or takedown the rebels in the two rooms you will then have to delete the message to which it goes loud you then head back but a rebel locked the door behind you so you tell your droid to slice the door lock and fight the rebels going back to the room that is the generator room you then head down the ramp into the next room in front of you when you are in it you can shoot the door panel behind you to keep your back covered you then tell your droid to open the door in front of you and you fight enemies in 4 rooms (or you can just rush it all the way to the last locked door) once you do that you will come to the last locked door to which you tell your droid to unlock it but this one has a malfunction so you have to defend you and your droid while the droid is opening the door once it has open you then head to a escape pod and go to the corvus (inferno squad command center ship) to which the mission is completed 

(sorry if some parts are messed up i spent a bit of time but i type fast)
