Star Ocean 2 True Ending Route This route heavily draws from Claude any% notes from Gearless Robot, with modifications added by me.

Start game, pick Claude

Check Claude's talents. If he knows more than 5, not counting Sense of Taste, reset. Try to get at least two of Originality, Dexterity, and Sense of Design.

Once you get control, set text speed to fastest, set formation to free for all, set target to auto, set move to d-pad. Check switch, then go towards teleport

Fight ape, use Phase Gun (L1)

Once in Arlia, go to Rena’s house, then the church, then back to Rena’s house.

Go in Rena’s room, then back into the guest room. Try to leave.

After cutscene, go to Salva. You might need to do the encounter glitch.

Go to Alen’s mansion, go up the stairs to the first room on the left, open the chest, talk to the butler, then leave.

Return to Arlia, cutscene, then go back to Salva.

Go back to Alen’s mansion, go in the first room on the right.

Go through the mines: Head up on the first screen, then go left once you enter the next screen. Do the encounter glitch on the next screen, then head up.

Encounter Glitch: If you equip a new killer move, you can't get into a fight until you either do something else in the menu, or you move close to a loading zone.

Alen-Tax: Switch to Rena and attack.

Cutscene, go back in Regis's house and go back to the table, cutscene, go to bridge in Arlia, more cutscenes.

Go to Cross, then go to the hotel.

Go to the castle and talk to the left guy at the desk. After you've set up an audience, talk to the other guy and the green haired guy. Then talk to the knight at the top of the stairs.

Leave, recruit Celine, then go to the skill shop and buy all 3 skill packs.

Go to Cross Cave. Go up, up, right, left, up, right, then cutscene. Go through the entrance and open the chest at the top left. Leave the cave the same way you came and don’t recruit Celine. Recruiting her adds extra dialogue and wastes time. The game will automatically unequip her accessories.

Clik PA: Talk to Filia to unlock True Ending PA in Central City later.

Go to Clik, talk to ship captain, get robbed, talk to girl at port, then go to the shops to find Ketil.

Go talk to the kids, then talk to the captain, then go back to the plaza.

Go up the stairs, talk to Ketil, then talk to the captain.

Go to Mars. Buy 6 Flare Bombs and sell Celine's accessories.

Go in the elder's house, cutscene, go back in and talk to the elder and say yes.

Once in the woods, equip Celine with the mud boots, then remove her from your active party.

The path through the woods takes sort of an S shape. On the screen with the 3rd group of bandits, you can go left and get smelling salts for safety. After the 3rd group of bandits, go up on both screens, then go down at the save point to get the Flame Blade. Put Celine back in your party and set her tactics to “Throw own body into attack”, then backtrack and follow the path right. Go left on the next screen.

Bandits: Get them to surround Claude and use 2 flare bombs.

Varmillion: Stay away from him and use Air Slash. Celine will run up to the boss and get herself killed. This may give Claude an attack boost. It will also distract him for a little bit and let you fire off Air Slashes without interruption.

Go to Lacour via Herlie.

In Hilton, buy Sensibility 2 and Technique 2.

Go to the castle and sign up for the tournament. Pick the second store from the entrance. It gives the best sword, which is all that matters because the enemies will OHKO you even with the best defensive equipment.

Go to the right and talk to the guy at the leftmost shop. Buy 15 attack vials, 10 mandrakes, 5 cure paralysis. Go in the building and buy Sensibility 3, Combat 1 and Combat 2.

Save, then go to the hotel.

First battle: His attack is slower than Claude’s, so just attack him.

Second battle: Air Slash. Keep your distance. You move faster if you move diagonally, so do that to keep your distance.

Third battle: Air Slash. Don’t get hit.

Fourth battle: Get as close to Dias as possible and let him kill you.

Go to Gamgee’s house and get the Sharp Edge. This is the most important part of the run.

Go to Linga and try to enter the Linguist’s house.

Go to Bowman’s shop and talk to him.

Go to the talent shop and buy Knowledge 2 and 3 and Technique 3.

Go to Sanctuary of Linga. On the first screen, go to the four way path. Go to the right, open the chest (Might Chain), then go left. Go up on the next screen. Go down the stairs, then go left and get the Clarisage and Rainbow Diamond. Go back the way you came.

Go back to Bowman. Recruit him.

Go to the co-op and buy pet food and a better book for Leon. Put 10 levels into perseverance for Bowman, then put 1 level into animal training and whistling. Keep using Familiar until Bowman learns Love of Animals. Then put 10 levels into playfulness. Put the rest of his SP into Kitchen Knife, Functionality, and Feint. Buy Bandit’s Gloves at the co-op and refill your pet food. Buy 20 magical clay if you don’t have Sense of Design. Learn Sense of Design and Love of Animals now.

Go to the basement lab in Lacour.

Go to Hilton and buy stuff you need to learn the talents you need (Originality and Dexterity: Iron or Silver, Sense of Design: Magical Clay (Got in Linga), Writing Ability: Fountain Pen, Sense of Rhythm and Pitch: Harmonica, Conductor's Baton and Feather Pen. Love of Animals: Pet Food (Got in Linga). Buy 20 of all of these except for the harmonica.

Teach Claude all the talents he needs. Buy more items if you run out.

Put points into until Craft is level 7, minerology is level 8, and esthetic sense is level 3.

Equip the Rainbow Diamond to Claude, then buy 20 Rubies and keep using metalwork until he makes a berserk ring. He needs Originality, Dexterity, and Sense of Design talents to make it. Equip the berserk ring and might chain to Claude.

Buy 20 blueberries and 20 blackberries, then buy as many resurrection bottles as you can afford.

Take the boat to the ruins.

Go in the ruins. After the door, take the first path on the right.

Go down the elevator.

Go down-right, down, down, down-left, down, then follow the path, then go up to get to the save point. There's a chest in the save point room that has a 'Spring'. It fully restores your party's HP and MP. Get it if you need it.

Once at the save point, set Leon to "Throw own body into attack". Make sure your lineup is this: Claude, Bowman, Leon, Rena.

For Claude, put points in scientific ability until Claude is level 4 and in functionality until he's level 4. Put 10 levels into Courage and 8 levels into Poker Face, then put the remaining points in Kitchen Knife, Functionality, and Feint. Save after this.

Harfainx: Use an Attack Vial on Claude. Wait for Leon to attack it, then get behind it. Bowman should do a decent job of distracting the other one. Use a blueberry to heal Bowman or Leon if they need it. Rena's healing is rather weak at this point. Once the first one is dead, use a mandrake on Leon and kill the other one.

Leave the ruins and go to the king’s chamber in Lacour.

Go to the front liness and buy 3 Green Beryls. Equip the green beryls to everyone. Spend the rest of your money on resurrection bottles.

Go to commander’s office at the end of the hall, cutscene, go to the screen outside the store, talk to Dias, go to the cannon, talk to Rena.

Next day, talk to 3 soldiers, then go to the hallway. Go to where the cannon is, and fight Shin.

Avoid Shin's attacks and attack him when he's trying to cast Foehn. If you can't interrupt him, the Green Beryls will allow you to survive Foehn. Set Bowman to manual for this fight.

Next day, go to Commander’s room, leave, enter the hospital and leave.

On the boat, win the first fight and use mandrakes to kill Bowman and Rena, and then use a mandrake to kill yourself against Shin.

Go to the El refugee camp. Accepting Leon is 8 seconds faster, so accept him.

Check the barrel in the bottom left corner to get the veil piercer, then try to leave. After you get the ID card, Equip the veil piercer, bandit’s gloves and rainbow diamond to Claude.

Go to Eluria tower.

Open the front chest in the first room to get the Meteor Ring.

Go up the stairs, and then go in the left room. Open the top and bottom chests(Musical software and Crestier Guard). Leave the room and go up the central path.

Go up the elevator, then go to the left and up that elevator.

Take the right elevator and enter the code: APOCA. Take the left elevator down, then go to the other side of the screen and take that elevator.

Open the left barricade and get beamed up.

Try to pickpocket the battle suit from the guy to your right (Claude’s left). It isn’t guaranteed to work, but if it does, it’s a big help. If you don’t get it, don’t worry about it.

After the cutscene, go up the elevator.

Put Leon in the first slot, Claude in the second, Rena third, and Bowman fourth. Go in to formation and press triangle and set party leader to Claude. Equip the battle suit and crestier guard now, and reequip the berserk ring and might chain. Replace Poison Pills with Firebird Attack.

Shin: Claude is in the top right, so attack vial Claude and kill the minions first. Leon will distract Shin while you kill them. Wait for Bowman to knock Shin down with Firebird Attack. Once he's down, attack him. Claude and Leon should be able to keep him down. If you have the battle suit, you have nothing to worry about. Keep attacking until he's dead. Use a mandrake on Leon at some point.

Run from Berle until time is up. Remember that you move faster when you move diagonally.

Disc 2

Once you gain control, leave city hall and go west to see Chisato. Then stay at the inn to revive characters. Remove Leon from active party if you’ve not done so already.

Go North City, and stop at the store and buy the flask and a violin. If you have the money to buy a Piano, get that as well. Buy a violin and lezard flask. For Rena, max perseverence(80), put 9 levels into Mineralogy(28), put 7 levels into Scientific Ability(40), and 5 levels into Fairyology.(258 in total) If she doesn't have enough SP, try to learn Love of Animals, Sense of Taste, or Sense of Rhythm. Hopefully she doesn't have all 3. Writing Ability is also a good one, though I'm not sure if you can get fountain pens in North City.

If Claude isn’t level 5 in customize, put more levels into functionality.

If Claude knows one music talent, learn the other one now and put as many points as possible into musical notation and musical instrument. If Claude knows both, just put points into musical notation and musical instrument. If Claude knows neither and Bowman knows one, learn the other one with Bowman. If neither Claude nor Bowman know either, make Claude learn the other one. If Leon leveled up against Harfainx or Shin, use him, unless he knows both (unlikely).

Learn Hail the Goddess with the violin, then give the Rainbow Diamond to Rena.

Play it, then use alchemy to make 2 mythrils. Then use those mythrils to make the Eternal Sphere. Remember to give Claude the Rainbow Diamond after you make the mithrils. You may want to go back to the world map and save before you try to make the Eternal Sphere.

Go to the Library in the far back. Read all the files to unlock that sidequest later.

Go to the building in the back right.

Use Head Splitter against the Synard.

After the cutscene, leave Noel’s house and go to the Cave of Red Crystal.

Go up the left path, then on the next screen, turn and go to the bottom right.

In the room three after the entrance, there’s a lone treasure chest at the end of a long dead-end path with Flying Hawk Robes. Get it and equip it to Rena. Then get Chisato’s Job ID to recruit her later.

Follow the path until the next fork, then go up.

Arcmene: Use Leon as a distraction to hit one. Once the first one is dead, repeat with the second.

Reject Noel.

Go to Fun City and steal the bunny shoes from the bunny outside the racetrack. Save first, because it's not a guarantee.

Go back to Central City, go to the third floor, recruit Chisato, then go see Narl.

Go to Field of Power first.

Field of Power: Go up the path that takes you to the cave at the top right of your screen.

In the cave, beat the monkeys and move on.

Once outside, go to the cave above you. Go up and to the right to get through.

When you get to the two ladders, take the right one, grab the Atlas ring, then take the left one.

Guardian: Have Bowman distract him, then hit him from behind. Kill Bowman at some point. You need Claude to learn Ripper Blast before the next field, and he wants the EXP less than Chisato & Rena.

Once you beat the boss, backtrack all the way out. Walking out is slightly faster than riding the avalanche.

Go to Giveaway. In the shop, stock up on Resurrection Bottles, Cure Stone and buy 2 Stone Check. Talk to Dean Parel, then Reyfus. (If Reyfus says only two text boxes, you didn’t read all the files to start the quest in North City and will need to do that. He should say 5-6 text boxes.) Also, get the Fairy Glass in Reyfus’s office.

If you have Ripper Blast, go to the Field of Knowledge, else, go to the Field of Love.

Field of Knowledge: Follow the path, taking every teleport you pass by to hit the switches. Check the mirror on the top path when you pass by it. Open the chest containing a fairy glass on the way back after you've hit all the switches.

Magic Hand: Equip Ripper Blast and Shooting Stars before the fight. First, use a fairy glass on Claude, then use Ripper Blast on Magic Hand. Once it's dead, use Shooting Stars on the bottommost orb. Then use an attack vial on Claude and kill the other 3 orbs. Make sure you're in front of them.

Field of Love: Go left until you see the first switch. Hit it, then go up and hit the second switch, then go back and follow the path. After the fight, backtrack.

Field of Courage: Keep going up until you get to a screen where you can go to the left. Go left and get the warrior statue. Go back a screen and go to the right. On the next screen, go left. This will take you back to the first room. Then go right until you get to an elevator. Go up the elevator and over to the pedestal. Put the statue on it (second option, watch out!) and fight the guardian.

Return to Central City. Do 2 Private Actions with Chisato to continue the Hidden Files Sidequest. Then return to Central City normally and talk to Narl.

Fienal fights: Kill Bowman in the first fight. Second fight, kill Rena at the start, then kill the big robot. Kill Chisato once he's dead. Kill yourself against Marsilio.

Go to North City and check the secret files, delivering the password to the Library Assistant. You’ll be able to see the titles, but not the contents. Go to the shop and buy the Piano if you haven’t already. Now’s also a good time to stock up on Attack Vials. Learn Song of Blessings here if you haven't already. (Piano 2, increases stats while playing)

Go to Armlock. Buy Bowman and Chisato a better weapon at the shop. Equip it and turn Rena's equipment wizard on. Go in the skill shop and buy Combat 3. Level Motormouth as high as possible on Rena and Leon. Make sure it's at level 10 before Indalecio. Then go to Heraldry Weapons Lab.

Once you're back, go to Mirage's house (Central house) and go in the back room.

Mihne cavern is on the island right next to Armlock.

In Mihne cavern, stick to the left side of the room and go up. Save before Bark in case you don't stun him before he can use Lost Patience.

Bark: Attack vial Claude, then mash X.

Go back to the back room of Mirage's house. After the cutscene, go to Fun City.

After the cutscenes, equip the Fallen Hope to Rena, then tell the guy you're ready to see Narl. Equip 10K Volts on Chisato if you haven’t already.

Marsilio: Attack Vial Claude, then attack him. He attacks rather slow, so you should have an opening.

Shigeo: Attack Vial Claude, then attack him. He moves pretty quickly, so try to get him trapped between Claude and Bowman.

Go to Armlock and go to Mirage's house.

If Bowman and Leon died a lot, you should have Growth by now. If not, you should get it after Berle. Equip the Meteor Ring over the Might Chain, and start every fight by switching to Rena, use an attack vial, then use Growth.

Berle: Try to attack him before he gets Meta-Guard up. Have Rena use an attack vial on Claude. If he uses it, run around and wait for it to run out, then attack. He can use it again before you can react, so he can make you lose a bit of time.

Do a PA in Fun City and see Marianna. Talk to her semi-conscious body twice to get the Slayer’s Ring. Equip it on Claude over the Meteor Ring.

Go to Giveaway and talk to Reyfus. Tell him that the party was who was at the Weapons Lab. Read the first two sets of documents. Check the third set. Then talk to Parel to get Pandora’s Box. Take it to Reyfus. Leave Giveaway. Enter Giveaway through PA and immediately leave. Enter Giveaway normally and talk to Reyfus and read the rest of the files. Go to L’Aqua and go in the infirmary. Talk to Narl.

Before you enter Fienal, set formation to Tri-Shift 2.

Ruprecht, Nicolus and Jibril: Use Head Splitter, then have Rena use an attack vial on Claude. Kill Nicolus first, then Jibril, then Ruprecht. Keep Bowman alive until Jibril is dead.

Before Vesper and Decus, set formation back to Free for All. Equip a Reverse Doll and Stone Check to Leon and Bowman. Equip a Protection Ring and Stone Check to Rena.

Vesper and Decus: Rush Decus before he uses Spicule. Have Rena use an attack vial on Claude. After you stop Spicule, wait for Leon to attack Decus before you do anything. If it looks like Decus will Spicule before Leon gets there, attack him. Bowman should distract Vesper. After Decus is dead, attack Vesper. He’s no threat on his own.

Floor 6: Once you enter, go right and then go up. Hit the middle switch and go left. Follow the path and hit the green and yellow switches. Go back to the three switches and hit the left switch. Go up and to the left and hit the right switch. Go left and hit the purple switch. Hit the left switch and go right. Hit the middle switch and go right, then down and hit the red switch. Go back to where you pressed the middle switch and hit the left switch. Go up, left, and up and hit the middle switch. Go to the next floor.

Cyril: Equip a Protection Ring to Rena before the fight if her old one broke against Vesper and Decus. He's immune to stars, but he's no threat. Try to get behind him and just keep hitting him until he dies. Attack vial Claude. Wind of Destruction is the only thing you need to worry about, and he’ll only do it once or twice, and the Green Beryls should help.

Now, the route diverges significantly from Any% as we enter the post-game bonus content to gain levels and equipment for the True Final Boss

On Floor 9, there’s a Duel Helm; equip to Claude for 100 Defense.

Follow the path until you get to the save point. Save your game at the final save point and leave Fienal. Use your SP to get Claude to L8 in Art (Sketching + Aesthetic Sense) and Chisato to at least L8 in Reproduction (she starts at L4). Also, you’ll want to put points into Claude’s Musical Talent until L8, but do NOT go higher than L8 with his Music Talent – this will be relevant later. Go to Fun City and talk to the strange old man in the back of the Fun City Arena. Agree to go through your memories and you’ll access Virtual Expel.

It may be worth trying to steal from the kid in the newlyweds’ house for Santa’s Boots, but they’re not great odds. They do sell for millions of Fol though. Your call.

Return to Hilton and buy a bunch of the skewers and other food items from the shop. Now’s also a good time to stock up on Feather Pens and Conductor’s Batons.

Go to Lacour to stock up on Attack Vials, Mixed Syrup, Aquaberry, Blackberry, Cure Stone, and Cure Paralysis

Go to Linga. Buy a full set of Magical Canvas, Magical Clay, 1 Magical Camera, and a full set of Magical Film. Equip both Rainbow Diamonds to Claude, play Hail the Goddess, craft an Extension Card and a Tri-Ball. Then have Chisato reproduce 20x Extension Card and 7-8x Tri-Ball. Equip Bowman with Explosion Pills.

Save scum at least 1x Feet Symbol with Radar

General overview: You’ll be using Extension Card in most boss fights (exception: Bloodgerell on Floor 2 and Weirdbeast on Floor 5) for 2x EXP in CoT for quick level gains. The goal is L90 by Dragon Tyrant (Floor 11). Floor 9 is pretty good for grinding, Floor 11 if you’re feeling lucky. Floor 7 and 10 are places where you can get killed real easily – 7 has Funnythief L99 raids and Floor 10 has Life Flayers, so don’t grind there. Floor 11 has Owlbears (enemies similar to Guardian and Geo-guardian) which give 400K EXP with Extension Card. They’re rare but very easy to kill.

Skills: Fighters should prioritize the following skills:

Feint, Parry, Body Control, Functionality, Biology, Danger Sense, Mental Science, Herbal Medicine. After those, any skills that increase STR, DEX (hit), AGL (avoid) and/or combat skills other than Flip, Gale, and Motormouth are good. Put points into Effort periodically as well.

Rena should prioritize the same, but doesn’t really care about Feint or Parry. She does, of course, want maxed Motormouth and should have it already by Wise Men. Turn off Fairy Heal and Cure All if you haven’t already. I like leaving on Fairy Light and Restore Dead although both are stop-time spells. It might also be worth setting her AI to ‘Aid Friends’ and turn off her handful of time-stopping spells (Anti is good for the final boss, Growth and Angel Feather are just good overall, especially in boss battles.)

Floor 1: No items worth getting here. We’ll use the shortcut to Floor 9 later. Equip the Bunny Shoes on Chisato.

Floor 2: Milene faces Luke (south) Luke faces Milene (north) Feria faces Luke (east) Yufie faces Lloyd (south) Lloyd faces Cistina (east) Sharon faces Yufie (west) Cistina faces away from all (south)

One of the chests above Feria has a Reflective Armor. Put that on Chisato or Bowman. Put the reward for the level, the all-powerful Seraphic Garb, on Claude. That is the best armor in the game. Move the Battle Suit on someone else if you got it on Disc 1

Floor 3: U, U, L, D, D, D, R, R, R, U, U, U, L, D, D, L. There’s a Slayer’s Ring on this floor, but nothing else worth getting. Dreamshades can be cheesed (very important throughout the rest of the cave. If they ever use Dream Peace, just bring up the “pause” menu in the game and wait out the time-stop. Very nice mini-glitch.

Floor 4: Far right has another Seraphic Garb. Equip it to another of your fighters. Far left to the boss.

Floor 5: Run from Weirdbeast fight. You can’t kill it yet. Go up and around, fight some more Dreamshades, get Weirdslayer and equip to Chisato. She’ll instakill Weirdbeast. There’s also your third Seraphic Garb on this floor.

Floor 6: Bottom-right Funnythief statue has the button. If Santa is here and you got the battle suit, sell the battle suit for 5x Tri-Emblems. Fight the boss, etc., leave the dungeon to safety save if you wish, then warp out.

Floor 7: On the left is another Weirdslayer. Equip it to Bowman. On the right behind a fake wall is the Cracked Gem.

Metalwork it to the Red Lotus Gem, set it on the Altar, fight Mythril Eater. Get the Bunny Shoes here and equip them to your third frontliner. Floor 8: Fourth and final Seraphic Garb is here. Fill the food god full of those meat skewers from earlier, then shove a mandrake down Puffy’s insufferable throat. E-Beast isn’t too hard. I’d recommend walking back to Floor 6 (or using a Go-Home Frog if Santa appeared and you got one) and safety saving here, even if you did before. There’s a shortcut to Floor 9.

Floor 9: Fake wall just above where you’ll drop down has Valiant Boots. Replace Bunny Shoes on Claude with those and give the Bunny Shoes to Rena. Coffin is sealed for now – we’ll come back.

Floor 10: WARNING: HERE THERE BE NASTINESS! Lifeflayers en masse = death. Make sure to encounter glitch this floor. Some nice items here in the red and yellow rooms, but those rooms do drain HP and MP. Your call whether to raid Floor 10 now or wait until after clearing CoT.

U R U U R R is the path that is all green rooms if you play cautiously.

I recommend R R U U R U to get two Valkyrie Boots and a Million Staff

Floor 11: Equip Claude with Dragon Howl KM & Feet Symbol accessory, Chisato with 10K Volts and Bowman with Explosion Pills. In the second room, use Song of Blessings to increase your stats before triggering the fight. Rena should be on Aid Friends, and make sure she’s hitting you up with Angel Feather and Growth. Having a stock of Blackberries or other MP restoratives is necessary, as Dragon Tyrant flies and has over half a million health. Stone Checks are good to have equipped. Definitely use an Extension Card here as Tyrant is worth 900K EXP to each character with it. You want to be around L90 for the Tyrant; level a bit if you don’t have that yet.

Check the door to Floor 12, then leave through the portal and safety save. You’ll have to come back with just Claude and Rena.

Floor 12: Phoenix is same as D. Tyrant, except it’s just Claude and Rena. Thankfully, his HP is a bit lower and you should have gained 8-9 levels on D. Tyrant. As long as you don’t move in the room with the Phoenix, you do have a chance to Song of Blessings, so do so. There’s some nice items in the side rooms, including two more battle suits which sell for 26,000,000 FOL.

Go back to floor 11, warp out, reunite party. You can pass through the portal to floor 12 unperturbed after beating Phoenix, so it’s never necessary to fight Gabriel with just Claude and Rena.

Return to the Coffin on Floor 9, fight Wisesorceror. Use the glitch from the Dreamshades if they get Dream Peace off. Again, this fight is worth boatloads of EXP, and Song of Blessings is a possibility. Equip Holy Sword Farwell to Claude. One last safety save if you wish. You’ll have to fight Phoenix again when you return (most likely?) Probably a good idea to return to Linga / Lacour for restoratives.

Return to Floor 12, fight Phoenix, and head to Floor 13.

All the enemies on Floor 13 are nasty, so use Encounter Glitch. Level 120 on Claude is what you’re looking for. Floor 11 is a good grind spot at this point.

Gabriel has 1,000,000 HP and will take some time. Holy Sword Farwell > Eternal Sphere here since Gabriel is immune to stars and the 70 AVD is huge here. Growth, Angel Feather, and Protection with Rena; with Berserk Ring, you should be doing a good 20K damage per swing with Claude, so she won’t last that long, and your AVD stat should be enough to somewhat reliably block her attacks. Manually running around to her back will help you hit her. After this, you’ll need to walk out of the dungeon the long way. There’s some good stuff on Floor 10 you might have missed, so check all the rooms. If you have a Go-Home Frog, use it after you've gotten any items you need. Grind Fights: Use Claude's Musical Talent at level 8 to play 'The Evil Melody' followed by 'Song of Blessings' to repeatedly summon Dragon Tyrant. Use an Extension Card each fight to double EXP gain. After Rena has hit level 120 or so, raise her Practice Level as high as possible (Effort, Perseverence, Patience), activate her Practice skill, and Mandrake her to KO her (make sure not to have any Reverse Dolls on her!

As you gain levels in the grind fights, use them on skill points for the fighters to increase their stats and their combat skills. Skills such as Sketching and Mech Knowledge which do not contribute to stat gains can and should be ignored. Make sure to turn off "Float" on all characters if you have not already, along with 'Flip' and 'Strong Blow' with Claude. Stock up on Mixed Syrup in Lacour.

Return to Nede (talk to Vern Vern in Virtual Arlia and tell it that it’s silly.) Return to North City, stock up on restoratives, Conductor’s Batons, and Feather Pens. Learn The Evil Melody with the Silver Trumpet. We’re going to repeatedly summon the L8 boss, Dragon Tyrant, to grind about 10-12 times (want ~L160 Claude for True Final Boss) Again, use Holy Sword Farwell; Angel Armband on Claude.

PA in Central City with Filia to unlock True Final Boss (Unlimited Indalecio).

Once you’re ready, return to Fienal and go to final save point. Stone Checks on the party, Angel Armband / Feet Symbols / Reverse Dolls and let’s go. Use Tri-Balls to try to break Indy out of powerful Magic, have Rena get off Anti in case he does anyway, Bowman’s Poison Pills and Chisato’s 10K Volts along with Claude’s normal attacks (Slayer’s Ring?) will help keep him stunned for the most part. If all else fails, switch to Rena and try to get Press off. It’s a tricky fight for sure, and at L160, you’re still not quite strong enough to always break his guard. With practice and perseverance, his 1.5 Million HP will fall. Enjoy the true end. Some helpful hints for Indy: Use Tri-Balls when Claude is extremely close to Indy to help get the stun. He should be using Holy Sword Farwell for the higher hit rate & avoid, along with Slayer's Ring (triple attack) and Angel Armband (star spray, like the Eternal Sphere). Rena's AI should be on Aid Friends, with the following spells active only: Fairy Light, Dispel, Raise Dead, Growth, Anti, Angel Feather, Press. Press is a great spell for helping to momentaily stun Indy and give your fighters a chance to catch him and start attacking. He runs fast and can cast-while-moving, similar to Limited Indy Phase 2, except he moves 2x as fast and can do so from the very beginning of the fight. I have had the most success with the following setup: Claude: Holy Sword Farwell / Slayer's Ring / Angel Armband (Manual Control, Atk. Vial/no KM's). HSF gives a nice buff to AVD and the best HIT buff among E-Sphere, HSF, Levantine. Chisato: Weird Slayer / Atlas Ring / Reverse Doll (Attack with all MP, - / 10kV ) Bowman: Weird Slayer / Might Chain / Berserk Ring (Attack with all MP, Poison/Exp. Pills) Rena: Fallen Hope / Reverse Doll / Reverse Doll (Aid Friends, see spell list)
