I have been thinking about this for a couple of days: If there's "All Stars Warps" and "All Stars Warpless", why is there no "All Stars 1 Warp"? Is this a cool idea for on the Cat. Ext LB?

I imagine mostly because All-Stars has a lower player base than Smb1 NES

860 runs on leaderboard for NES Super Mario Bros. 107 runs on leaderboard for SNES Super Mario Bros. (All-Stars)

And since category extensions are a niche category that have less traffic than the main game anyway, I doubt there's enough of a desire for many category extensions for All-Stars

There's not even a page for it atm - there's this page... But that's just main cats so doesn't apply... There's all stars multi-game, but that doesnt apply - the smbce page is just for nes... You'd have to apply for a brand new page through speedrun.com I think

Remember guys... there doesn't have to be an official page for a category for you to run it. If there's enough interest in a category, the mods will more likely than not add it to the site.

Ordinarily I'd agree with what you said Raymond. But there's nowhere for it to go, unless you added it to smbce, but every one of the ce's is smb1 nes... It just doesn't make sense with the current speedrun.com setup we have. There's nowhere for it to go that I can think of.

You're technically right raymond, but that's not how I see speedrunning.

For me, the true spirit of speedrunning is to have a leaderboard, and to compete against others to show their times. I'd personally run and I saw others say the same thing. We could do a strawpoll in the discord, or post a strawpoll here and take a vote on wether there should be a leaderboard or not of this category.

You are right, but as long as speedrunning has existed there's always been a leaderboard to support it. I'm not saying "this will be a leaderboard, wether you like it or not", but I agree with Daniël in thinking that this would make a great leaderboard. And since there's many people who've speedran NES 1 Warp, they'd likely join the All-Stars train as well.

This is my personal opinion.

Also @Darpey there's All-Stars categories on SMBCE as well. Such as *8-4 Any% and Warpless.

@Mars02 I totally forgot about those - good point. That totally invalidates my earlier arguments. That being said it's definitely possible to add one warp to smbce - you'd just need sufficient interest and a mod for ce that's willing to add it

either way i'd run it, again i've been meaning to derust all-stars. might do a run eventually just for fun
