it's not written in the rules anywhere, and i'm not sure if it counts as a cheat, so i just want to clarify

Totally allowed, as it doesn't give any advantage over 3 button mode. It's mainly a preference.

I didn't mention this in the rules, because not many people know about 6 button mode.
