I recently realized I should probably be posting any updates to here as well as discord just to make this information accessible to those without discord.

A couple announcements:

• Abandoned Facility Optimus is getting a reset: We as mods have been on the fence about this for a while but after looking back at some old WRs, we now see that it's changed so much from it's original form that it's basically a new map competitively. So a reset will be necessary to keep up the competitive integrity of the leaderboards. The cutoff point for the reset will be anything from the revamp onwards.

• The rules will be getting a rewrite: Something we've noticed is that the majority of new players have had a hard time understanding the rules at first, the majority of players first runs were invalid, and that the majority of new players never came back after a getting a run rejected. So we've decided that making the rules easier to understand for new players will benefit the community long term by bringing in new competition and making the leaderboards more competitive. A few rule changes were considered as well, however, THE RULES WILL NOT BE CHANGING AS A RESULT OF THIS REWRITE, THIS REWRITE IS MEANT TO MAKE THE RULES EASIER TO UNDERSTAND NOT CHANGE THE COMPETITIVE NATURE OF THIS GAME.

Both of these changes can be expected to be complete in about a week or so

Since I have a tendency to write for way to long, important points are as follows:

• Optimus is getting reset
• Optimus reset will only affect runs from before Feburary 23rd, 2025
• Rules are getting a rewrite to make them easier to understand
• Rules will not change as a result of this rewrite
• Both of these changes will take about a week or so to implement

Also, please try not to submit any runs with the timer covered. Your run won't be rejected, but it makes our job as mods a lot more difficult as we then have to time it manually. Thanks! 🙏

Don't know yet, depends on when I have time. Reset will happen Saturday at the latest. The date for the rules aren't as set in stone but my goal is to get those up also by Saturday at the latest.

would be cool to have the old version as an [ARCHIVE] subcat instead of rejecting every run so we can still watch runs on the old ver :3

@4d9r we actually do archive runs on the old versions of maps. Those leaderboards are archived under the Survivor Old and Beast Old categories (located under miscellaneous categories).
