"New Game" Clean File Tutorial

The problem with NG is that you need to do the boring forced tutorial section with Leon/Helena every time you start the game without a save. To avoid this but still having a clean save to do a New Game run we need the gamesave that we get just after finishing the mandatory tutorial.

PS3

- Create a new user account (or use one already created that it does not have RE6 files), start the game and do the mandatory tutorial.
- Right after finishing the tutorial, go to the main menu of RE6 to make sure the game is saved and exit the game.
- Copy the gamesave to another user account that you know it doesn't have any RE6 data on it (that account will keep the gamesave, don't use it to load that save so you keep it clean for your main account for NG runs).
- When you finish your NG run or you have to reset, exit the game, delete the savedata from the account you're using to play your NG run and get the copy of the clean save from the other account.

PC

- Make sure you have Steam Cloud activated on RE6 to keep your normal file safe (the one you use for casual runs, NG+ runs, etc), then turn Steam into offline mode.
- Now go to "Program Files/Steam/userdata/(youraccountfolder)/221040/remote" and then delete the "savedata" inside the folder.
- Now if you start the game on Steam with the offline mode enabled you'll start the game from scratch. Do the forced tutorial and go to the main menu to make sure you have your new save file.
- Exit the game and go to the same folder where you deleted the savedata before, then backup the new "savedata" file.
- Every time you finish a run or have to reset, go to said Steam folder and replace the savedata with the clean NG file you have as a backup.

Gun turret skip Guide (WIP)

** Will eventually add Jake/Sherry stuns here. For now, I have Chris' up. 

**Turret 1**

The skip is getting the Orgoman (giant BOW at the start of the section) to hit the first and third turret with a clap, punch, or slap down to destroy it. This saves a lot of time due to now having to wait for Fin to get over to the turret, set the bomb, and blow it up. It is enemy AI dependent and don't be discouraged if you do not get it all the time/mess it up. 

FYI, you can destroy only the first and final turret with the Orgoman. The second one has to be done by Fin. Furthermore, in Solo, if your FPS is 120, it is SLOWER to destroy the third turret with Orgoman. 60 FPS is faster to have him do it. 

Coop is faster to have Orgoman destroy the final turret.

**Running Option:**

This is a way to do it for both solo and coop, where you run up immediately, get his attention once in place, and have him hit it.

DO NOT AIM FOR THE WEAK POINT. IT WILL CAUSE A STUN. The best guns to use to get his attention are AK, handgun, magnum, and rifle.  (For all characters! Jake just uses the pole of course.)

In coop, the other player would go and hide to limit as much agro on them as possible.

Positioning and getting his attention, especially if you are playing Jake/Sherry is key. He goes after whatever gives off more agro. If your positioning is off, he will have a higher chance of whiffing the turret when he tries to hit it.

**Chris Stun option:**

Solo or Coop

Can stun as Chris before running up. Can be done for solo/coop. Aim for the mouth or the exposed bulb on his back. FYI, better to use a weapon with either piercing, OR good stun. EX: handgun, rifle or AK. **Grenade Launch IS NOT GOOD FOR THIS.**

Going to show two ways because of how Orgoman acts.

**In coop,** either Chris OR Piers can run up to do the Gun turret skip. The Chris player will do it after he stuns. The Piers player can run up while Chris is getting the stun off.

**It is better for Piers to do the stun due to Jake and Sherry's AI following Chris**

 This keeps Orgo man in place but does take him a while to get up. Not bad if Chris is going up there to do the skip while Piers hides. A bit of an issue if Piers is the one going to do the Gun turret skip. 

BE CAREFUL. IT IS VERY EASY TO KO HIM WITH THIS!!!!


**Piers Stun Option:**

Solo or Coop

Same idea as the Chris stun, but Piers does it instead. Better for coop than Solo runs. The lack of a handgun/AK is a bit more difficult. Best weapons to do so: both rifles and machine pistol.

**Keep at bay Option:**

A Coop option. 
Can be done with any character. This option has the player keeping Orgoman near the area of the turret on the floor WITHOUT STUNNING. 

The issue can be if Orgoman does the instant kill stomp and the player doesn't move away from the area in time. Furthermore, the ground player has to be careful with Orgoman grabs since it can lead to a stun. 

Once the player performing the skip is at the top, let them gain Orgoman's attention to do the skip. The ground player goes and hides.

Once you destroy the turret, either run to the second turret and kill the Orgoman there OR kill him once the turret is destroyed and move on.

**Turret 3 (Works for both Jake and Chris)**

Destroying the final turret is about 20 seconds faster than letting Fin play it out IF Orgroman plays nice. 

You get the second Ogroman that spawns to destroy the final turret with either a stomp, downward slap, OR falling on it with his hand as he dies. The final option has a VERY weird hitbox and it is UNRELIABLE. However, it is the fastest option due to not having to watch the cutscene of the BOW being killed. (Saves est 20 seconds.) 

**Solo:**

A quick summary of it is run through the underground area after destroying turret 2. Once you surface to the top again, DO NOT reset the Checkpoint. Instead, kick down the ladder, get Ogroman to get stunned by the power lines, and perform the QTE to pull out the bulb. THIS IS CRUCIAL. 

If you do not do this or kill the Ogroman once you destroy the final turret, then the game will prompt you to expose them, thus wasting time. 

Expose his organ, then climb up the ladder and jump to the other side of the gate. This will prompt the Ogroman to throw a truck to rid of the gate and then hang near the turret to either stomp or swing down at the turret. The killing option has you standing in a certain area in hopes of his dying animation landing on it and registering it being destroyed.

**Coop:**

Two ways to do this. Both players run underground and proceed to do the same process as mentioned in Solo besides a few different things. One player goes behind the gates while the other doesn't jump down. 

The other option, which is better for 120 especially, is to have one player stay near the area up top while the other runs underground.  For the going player underground, remember to kick the ladder down before going behind the gate so the other person can climb up and pull out the bulb.

If you are killing, instead of keeping him alive, then the player staying up top needs to trigger the powerlines before the underground player comes up.

You don't need to stand up in the corner after rolling into it, but it seems to make the AI kick you out of the grab faster. Also, you need to have left handed aiming to roll into the corner properly.

New Game + Skill Sets

I get this question sometimes and I have been meaning to make some guides so why not start with something simple?
This guide will list what skill sets recommended at this time per campaign and when you should use them

Leon: 
You will need two skill sets:
Skill Set 1: Infinite Magnum, Magnum Mastery, Firearm 3
Skill Set 2: Infinite Magnum, Firearm 3, Breakout
Skill Set 3: Magnum Mastery, Firearm 3, Shooting Wild
Skill Set 4: Ak master, Firearm 3, Infinite AK 
Skill Set 5: Infinite mag, Grenade power up, firearm 3
Skill Set 1: Chapter 1, 2, and 5 you will use Skill Set 1. For most of Chapter 4, you will use this same skill set except at one point where you are on the plane. 
For all of Chapter 3, you use Skill Set 2 and for part of the plane in Chapter 4. Switch to this skill set right before you open the Valve Door in solo and in co-op the Leon partner switches before the start of chapter. You switch back to Skill Set 1 before Leon pilots the plane so you can have the firepower for the Ustanak fight. 
Skill set 3 can be used for the Boss fights if you have enough ammo and have good aim with it. I recommend it for Ustanak, T-Rex Simmons and Simmons boss fight with Ada. It can be used for Chapter 2 as well before the boss fight with Lepotitsa-just switch to it before the final coop prompt on the top of the Cathedral. Train Simmons does not save time in solo if you switch to it but is good to use for Coop. 
Skill Set 4: Use this for ch 1 and other areas of the game to skill smaller enemies quicker than with weapon switch mag. Switch to Mag for bigger/tanker enemies
Skill set 5: Use this for the grenade toss in chapter 3 if needed and for the grenade toss when you have to kill all the enemies in chapter 5 ( the area before you have to run towards the camera cause if a plane falling onto the road)

Chris:
Now you will need three Skill Sets:
¤(Main)Skill Set 1: Infinite Grenade Launcher, Grenade Launcher Mastery/¤Defense 3, Firearm 3
Skill Set 2: Infinite Rifle, Rifle Mastery, Firearm 3
Skill Set 3: Infinite Shotgun, Shotgun Mastery, Firearm 3 

¤ Defense 3 is for you to decide if you wish to use. Grenade Launcher can be dangerous to the player(s) if you are reckless or not careful. The set up with the Mastery can do 5 bars to yourself if it is right next to you. Missing one bar and you are in dying state. For someone who isnt use to Chris' campaign, I recommend trying Defense until you learn what to do; otherwise, I recommend full damage set up...Just keep in mind of your health or it will ruin your run.

Skill Set 1: Your main set up for this campaign. You will use it all for Chapter 1, majority of chapter 2, 3,4, and most of chapter 5 up until the end. 
Skill Set 2: Before going into chapter 2, switch to this and use it until you beat the first Gaint. It is the most effective way to damage his weak point compared to the grenade launcher. After this fight, switch back to the Skill Set 1.
Skill Set 3: Use it after you beat the final boss. Shotgun is good for destroying the barriers at the homestretch instead of waiting for Piers to walk to them and use his arm. Thanks to Wesker_Reborn for this tip

Jake: 
You will need 4 skill sets for this campaign
(Main) Skill Set 1: Infinite Magnum, Magnum Mastery, Firearm 3
Skill Set 2: Infinite Magnum, Firearm 3, Breakout
Skill Set 3: Defense 3, Jhavo Killer 2, Melee 3 (Credit to RE_Snow and RebirthXeroo)
Skill Set 4: Infinite Grenade Launcher, Firearm 3, Grenade Launcher Mastery OR Grenade Launcher Mastery, Shooting Wild, Firearm 3. 
Skill Set 5: Infinite AK, AK Mastery, Firearm 3 (Use for the chainsaw fight)

Skill Set 1: Use this for chapter 1, and majority of chapter 4 and 5.
Skill Set 2: Use for Chapter 2 and right after you use the crane to stop the elevator. Switch back to Skill Set 1 after you start the elevator with Chris/Piers
Skill Set 3: Use for Chapter 3 and switch to it right when Jake tells Sherry "Sherry Now!" during the second to last Ustanak fight. You will need it for the hand-to-hand fight with Ustanak.
Skill Set 4: Switch to it after the bike section and use it throughout the Helicopter fight to damage it

Ada: 
This campaign requires a skill set per chapter with the exception of one... so I will list the chapter right next to it instead of making a separate paragraph. 
Optional Skill Set: Infinite Shotgun, Shotgun Mastery, Firearm 3 (if you want to use it or have as a backup or Use it for Chapter 5) 
Skill Set 1: Infinite Shotgun, Firearm 3, Breakout (Chapter 1)
Skill Set 2: Infinite Shotgun, Grenade Power-Up, Firearm 3 (Chapter 2)
Skill Set 3: Cross Bow Mastery, Quick Reload, Firearm 3/Crossbow Mastery, Firearm 3, Shooting wild [This one is faster but the other can be used if you are not confident in using SW] (Chapter 2, switch to it right before Leon gets on the minecart)
Skill Set 4: Infinite AK, AK Mastery, Firearm 3 (Chapter 3 or Chapter 5)
Skill Set 5: Quick Reload, Defense 3, Grenade Power-Up (Chapter 4)

*Quicker Weapons Switching:
Have it to where the gun you will be using and the other gun you switch to recoil cancel have the SAME aiming stance. 
EX: Leon's campaign-Use the handgun/Mag for very fast switching. Will provide video of this soon and will test out with other campaigns and characters too!

Tricks you need to know

Hi in this guide i will show you the main tricks you need to know in order to speedrun this game.

First of all is the recoil cancel. By switching shoulder you can cancel the recoil animation of a weapon and shoot with no cooldown. This is especially useful with slow fire rate weapons such as shotguns or sniper rifles. An alternate way to do it is to switch weapons. This is more precise and more useful with a magnum for instance.

Then is the stumble skip. Sometimes the game will make your character stumble, but it can't if you are in a middle of a roll or a slide. It's also possible to skip cutscenes where your scharacter is picking up a key by picking up the key during a slide.

These are the main tricks that you can use in any run of resident Evil 6. Try to use the recoil cancel as much as possible and to save shotgun shells only for this purpose.
