Setting Up the Autosplitter

1.) Setup Livesplit: http://livesplit.github.io/downloads/

2.) Right click anywhere in Livesplit and choose **Open Splits -> From File...**

3.) Open one of the splits files found in the **Resources** tab of this site (for the lazy: [click](https://www.speedrun.com/pop_tfs/resources/219dt))

4.) Right click anywhere in Livesplit and choose **Edit Splits**

5.) Underneath the **Attemps** box ensure that the **Activate** button is clicked.

6.) Enjoy. The script auto-starts, auto-splits, resets, and removes loads.

Side Notes: The name of each split is unimportant. If making your own splits, you need to ensure you have the number of splits the script is expecting, and that the category and subcategory (found under the 'Additional Info' tab) are set correctly. If you discover a bug please notify me (Samabam#8840).

TFS Speedrunning on SteamOS (Steam Deck)

I doubt anyone will actually need this guide during my lifetime, I'm putting it here as a reminder to myself in case I ever have to go through this process again. 

1. In Desktop mode use a browser to download the Ubisoft Connect installer.
2. Open Steam (Desktop Mode) and in the bottom left click "Add non-steam game" and navigate to the Connect installer in your downloads folder. 
3. Right click on the installer entry in Steam and go to properties/compatibility. 
4. Force compatibility with Proton 7 or newer.
5. Run the installer through Steam.
6. Add the Connect exe to Steam, set its compatibility as above, and then run it. It is located in *home/deck/.local/share/steam/steamapps/compatdata/{big number}/pfx/drive_c/program files (x86)/ubisoft/ubisoft game launcher*
7. Install the **Uplay version** of TFS, the Steam version does not function. 
8. Launch the game to make sure it works.
9. Switch over to Game Mode and launch Connect, then use the mouse controls to launch TFS.
10. Press the Steam button and edit the controller settings to achieve left-click for menu speed, etc.

Updating Autosplitters (Pull Requests)

1. First step, make a github.com account.

2. Find the asl script you want to update. (This should be listed in Resources here on src).

3. Click on the edit pencil seen here:

4. Add your desired changes and click Commit Changes.

5. Now travel to the Pull Request tab and click "New pull request"

6. Click "Create pull request" to send your changes to the owner for review.

In the event a script owner leaves the community, upload your script to your own github account. Copy a link to the raw file and make a pull request of the autosplitters code, placing your raw link where the former script owner's used to be.
