I am unsure what "PAL" means. I'd love anybody to explain this to me for Luigis Mansion speedrunning. I apologize if the question is uneducated, I am very new to speedrunning.

PAL is the European version of Luigi's Mansion. The Hidden Mansion setting, which is used for speedruns, is different in the PAL version rather than the NTSC (US/JP) versions. The layout is reversed, each room has a different sequence of ghosts, and the boos have more health. This is why the leaderboards have separate categories for PAL than NTSC.
