# TUTORIAL BY IMAGES

● First of all, when you open the program the first time it will be in the "default" profile, change it to "Teste".

● Go into the LiveSplit key settings and see that the PAUSE command is the same key you will use in AutoSplit (recommended to use the "Shift" key).

▶ 1 - Make sure LiveSplit is selected, and that "Focus on App. before key sending" is unchecked;

▶ 2 - Set the PAUSE and RESUME hotkeys to the key corresponding to the PAUSE option in the LiveSplit settings (we recommend using the "Shift" key);

▶ 3 - Select the first square as shown in the image to select the entire line;

Open your game normally and go to a loading screen.

*NOTE: You can not move the window of your emulator / program, later in the tutorial I will explain.*

▶ 4 - Click on "Get tpl Picture" or on "Get tpl Picture 2", when the loading screen appears click on one of the options to capture a base picture (that will be used to pause and unpause time);
*NOTE: The selected image must be a static image (not moving at all) so that the program recognizes it in all loading screens that come along the run.*

▶ 5 - Now you will select the running program which in this case is the emulator that is running your game, click "Reacquire Title" to update the open programs on your PC;

▶ 6 - Select the emulator / program that is running the game;

▶ 7 - As in step 3, select the first square as shown in the image to select the entire line;

▶ 8 - Click "Insert" that will get your emulator/program and also coordinates;

▶ 9 - Remember I told you that you can not move the window of your emulator / program, then by clicking "Lock the window" your window is fixed (if you drag it, it will always stay in the same place because the program will use the screen where you made the print as a basis to pause and unpause the time at the same coordinate of your PC screen);

▶ 10 - And finally click "Start" and run the game normally with livesplit in action.

Obsolete Skips/Techniques

This "guide" sort of thing is just to cover skips/glitches that were useful back in the day, but got obsolete due to route improvements, they are the following:

**Manhole Skip** - Found by me, @Kromer in May 5th, 2018.

The first major skip used in Any%, consists in a pause buffer trick that allows the character to clip through the manhole and get access to the sewer levels, ignoring both Chinatown and Waterfront stages, saving roughly 20 minutes, but got obsolete after Roof Top Skip was discovered.

Following the same idea of the previous Skip, this one allows the player to clip through the gate and skip the first level of the Factory stage.

# Question: What is a Glitch?

Answer: It is when you perform a movement to perform such an action for the player uses it as an advantage taking advantage of it, for example: Crossing walls, skipping scenarios, dialogues, having infinite items and etc.

# Question: What is a Skip?

Answer: It is when we use a game failure and use it as an advantage to skip a game event, performing a movement/action at specific locations to skip 10, 50 or 90% of the game's progress (either in levels, within levels or stages).

# Question: What is an Exploit?

Answer: Exploit can be confused with glitch or bug, but it is not, it is a more specific term that explains certain malfunctions that are exploited by the player to his advantage, for example: poorly positioned platform, shortcuts with unintentional shape, positioning error of such items and tricks using objects or other characters in the game.

# Sewer - Level 2 Skip

This skip is very difficult and risky to do.

- If you make a mistake two things can happen: You accidentally access level 2 or fall into limbo.
- The only way out is to save and load the game OR you go to the "Options" and go to "Credits" skip the credits and Jackie goes back to the level selection and tries to skip again.
