When you press TAB to open the map and then exit right after, the enemies freeze for a second allowing you to run away from them much quicker and sometimes you don't have to hide.

One thing to note is if you get caught while they are frozen the game will softlock, you'll have to Alt F4 so be careful doing this glitch while they are close to you.
