Moon Jump Glitch Guide/Observations

Ran some tests to get a better idea of how the moon jump glitch works after it slightly messed up a run for me. Wanted to document my findings here, both for the community and for my own remembering!

**Basic Tutorial:**

- Be moving, jump, and then pause the game in mid-air 

- While paused, press the A button a few times. 1-3 times is usually sufficient, and too many will send Harold careening upward super fast. So fast, in fact, that I'd like to give a slight epilepsy warning for anything past 6 A presses. (It's not super jarring, but best to be safe.) I find 3 presses is perfect for just about everything.

- Unpause, and enjoy your extra height! 

**Notes:**

-If you didn't get any height, it's likely you accidentally let go of the circle pad and stopped moving before you paused the game.

-You do not need to keep the circle pad held after you pause the game. It's probably best to keep holding it, though, to protect against accidentally letting go early and killing your jump.

**Oddities:**

-While pressing A is the main way to gain height, how long you wait **after** pressing A and **before** unpausing also has a dramatic effect on it. Waiting even a short bit can send you notably higher for... some reason.

-Starting a double-jump right before you pause the game will give you a little extra height. Waiting to pause until the end of the double jump kills almost all of your height, making your moon jump barely visible. (This oddly doesn't happen with normal jumps- just double jumps.)

-If you don't double jump before pausing and press both B and A at the same time, this gets you a lot more height. (You should hear Harold's jump noise when doing this correctly)

And with that...

**Estimated Height Ranking! (From what gets you the most height while paused to what gets you the least)**

1: Hitting the A button again

2: Waiting a short bit after hitting A

3: Hitting B and A simultaneously (you should hear Harold's jump noise)

4: Double-jump right before pausing

I doubt anything other than hitting A is actually useful during speedruns, as the A method gets you the most height for your time. Who knows, though? Maybe one of the other ones is slightly more optimized for certain spots.
