Duckstation Settings Guide/Ruleset

There's inconsistencies between the older and current (2024) versions of Duckstation as of writing this, which causes the load times of modern duckstation to be slower than the older versions.  But the gist of the currently acceptable settings is this: Clockspeed 130%(44.03MHz), 8 sector runahead, 2x read speed, and instant seek speedup. This is to get the emulation load times as close to PS2 with fast disk enabled as possible.
Going forward, you can use the 2022 build provided in Resources, or use the modern versions despite the extra added time. But you have no real reason to do the latter unless you're just trying to make things harder for yourself :P

Passion Skip (Pit Skip)

Anyone who sees my runs will notice I drive the car through the pit lane at Motorplex without being forced to actually slow down and pit. This is done by using the 'fast steer' in either direction while entering the bottleneck of the pit lane at full speed, and keeping it held in that direction until you pass the second garage door. If done correctly, you should hear no pit call voice. It is then safe to straighten the car back out and start gathering speed again. This saves roughly around a full second if done well enough.
