#Dialogue Storage

Dialogue Storage allows the player to retain movement while a dialogue box is open. The primary purpose is to arbitrarily trigger dialogue. It can also be used to activate "skew".

The first step in every text storage is to activate "Battle Prompt Storage".

**Steps:**
1. Save
2. Enter a dialogue list (selling, cooking, storing) and cancel it.
3. Without pausing or activating any other dialogue, enter a battle
4. As the first action, throw an Abombination and get a game over from it.
5. Wait, the game will reload but keep the reload prompt on screen.

Once BPS is obtained, it is recommend to move from it to a normal dialogue box. Talking to an NPC with one dialogue box is sufficient.
From here, TS may be used to arbitrarily trigger dialogue or trigger a skew.

Movement of the party is regained when a conversation ends. To change which conversation is stored, begin one, then allow the previous conversation to end.

#Arbitrary Dialogue
In Bug Fables, dialogue is stored in text files. Entire conversations are stored on a single line, with few exceptions.
One common case is in branching dialogue. In dialogue, each option in a text prompt will lead to different specific line # in a text file.

Each and every room in Bug Fables has its own text file for dialogue. 
If a text prompt is carried from one room to another, a line of dialogue from the new room's text file can be triggered.

For instance, if selecting "yes" in a prompt leads to line 10, it is possible to activate line 10 in any room by carrying the prompt to it.

Activating any dialogue will allow the selection of an entry in a prompt. Pressing HELP will work for rooms that do not have other dialogue.

#Skew
In some cases during Dialogue Storage, moving will instead cause the player to rotate, or "skew" themselves. 
This moves a ground detection trigger, making it possible for it consider walls as a "floor".
Since after jumping, a wall will still be inside the trigger, jumps can be performed endlessly to scale a wall.

Here's one example of obtaining skew:
1. Observe the Settler's statue dialogue
2. Save
3. Obtain BPS
4. Talk to Janet
5. Observe the Settler's statue. This dialogue box is "special"
6. Try to buy an item from Madame Butterfly.
7. Hold left, the player will rotate, let go after rebounding.
8. As the player reproaches the ground, press CONFIRM.
9. End the conversation and walk away.

What makes any particular dialogue box "special" is unknown. But after triggering one, the next dialogue box will activate skew.

CONFIRM will only work if the ground trigger is detecting the ground, so it is possible to get soft locked if not careful with skew.

Skew positions the ground trigger to one side. A wall needs to be on that side to scale it.

The collision mod can be used to view the ground trigger. Press R to activate trigger view.

List Storage (1.0.X only)

__**Does not work in versions 1.1.0 and later**__

Lists can be carried out of a pause menu and used to begin various other glitches. This trick works with the Item, Key Item, Medal, and Discovery lists.

**Steps:**
1. Open a list on the pause menu.
2. Leave the cursor at the top of the list.
3. Press MENU to immediately close the pause menu.
4. While the menu is closing, press spam UP.

With the right timing, the list will be displayed outside of the pause menu, and control of the party will be retained.
Switching to 30 FPS in the settings makes this trick easier.

A carried list can be used to override an item meant to be obtained with an ID within the list.

For example, picking up an item in the overworld, the selecting an entry in the list will instead give the item whose ID was selected.

The Item, Key Item, and Medal lists are "unstable". Pressing CONFIRM will easily close the list.
The Discovery and Medal (when selecting #82 or higher) lists are "stable". Pressing CONFIRM will not close the list.

The stable lists are more versatile. It is possible to replace the items purchased from shops since CONFIRM does not close them.

The Medal list organizes the Ids numerically, starting at 0, increasing with each entry in the list. Through medal duplication, all IDs can be accessed.

The Item and Key Item lists are limited to the IDs of the items within them.

There are various ways to use the carried lists.

**In The Overworld:**
1. With a list out, pick up an item on the ground.
2. Select the wanted ID from the list with CONFIRM.
3. Press CANCEL to close the list.

**In Battle:**
1. With a list out, enter battle.
2. Select the wanted ID from the list with CONFIRM.
3. Select the party member to use the item on.

**At a shop:** (Stable Only)
1. With a list out, attempt to purchase an item with CONFIRM.
2. Select the wanted ID from the list with CONFIRM.
3. Press CANCEL to close the list.
4. Purchase the item.

**Infinite Key Item Generation**
Items and key items share an ID list, but obtained items will go to the inventory of the source. So, purchasing a key item from a shop will send it to the item inventory, rendering it unusable. To avoid this, replace an existing key item.
Key items are limited, so use this process to generate them:

1. With a list out, pick up the first wasp key in the wasp kingdom stealth section.
2. Select the wanted ID from the list with CONFIRM.
3. Press CANCEL to close the list.
4. Get caught to regenerate the wasp key but not lose the obtained item.


**Infinite Medal Generation**
1. With a list out, attempt to purchase a medal from Merab's medal shop with CONFIRM.
2. Select the wanted ID from the list with CONFIRM.
3. Press CANCEL to close the list.
4. Purchase the item.

Only works at Merab's. The original medal is not removed from the pool unless the obtained medal is the same.
