So this is gonna be super vague but I wanted to put this out there. I was doing the horse archery mini game in the Lake Tower region near Menoat river and I ended up failing. Afterwards I was riding my horse back to their little tent with the cooking pot. I was going fast so when I got close to their base I pulled back on the stick and starting mashing B to get off the horse (which was Epona from the Smash Bros. amiibo). I jumped off the left side of the horse then shot in that direct for about 5 seconds. I was sliding on the ground the whole time. I eventually stopped because i hit into a large rock. It seemed reminiscent of a superslide in Ocarina of Time so I thought if we could figure out how in the world I did it it might be useful in a run. I have not been able to replicate it again. Has anyone else experienced this yet. I don't speedrun things so I'm not too phenomenal at this stuff so hopefully someone else can figure out how the hell I did this. I don't have any photos or videos because I wasn't expecting it to happen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When you got off the horse were you in the camp? I was trying to replicate it and thought maybe when you jumped off you landed on the cooking pot or stool. The cooking pot will push Link off of the top and stools have some wonky collision resolution. If that's the case though replicating will be really hard.

I stopped right before the cooking pot. From what I remember her right front hoof was right next to the pot. Epona lifted up her front feet as usual when you stop from a high speed. And then I spammed B and jumped off on the left side of her. After that the slide happened. I tried for about an hour or two to replicate it today with no luck.

Maybe it has something to do then with the horse wanting to jump but stopping instead. I didn't test for too long, but I would either stop way prior cause my timing was bad or late. When I was stopping late the horse would ignore the command and jump the pot anyways. There may be a window in the timing where you can trick the game into stopping, but also trying to jump and that sends you sliding.

Hmmmm that's definitely worth a try. I'll have to try some more attempts after work and see what I come up with. I've been randomly stopping Epona and jumping off to see if I can replicate it somewhere else but still nothing.

Yeah it happened to me too (it then leads to the infinite stamina on horse), but was able to replicate it 2 or 3 times, no more. Tired of trying for hours and hours so I guess I can say that I gave up. It was with a wild horse, and I just get off of it with B, nothing more (well I think).

Thanks for confirming that I'm not crazy. I still haven't replicated it so I'm done trying for now. I'll update if I ever find a consistent way to do it.
