The skip saves a whole minute in the best-case scenario, but the last part of it (clipping on top of the room via the pillar) is inconsistent. There's a lot of ways that last part of the skip may go wrong, which includes: going into the void on accident, clipping back in the level boundaries, being stuck in the wall, or being unable to do anything to proceed.
