Turbo fire can only be obtained by getting a red lander. Collecting 5 red landers will boost your fire rate to its maximum. In order to get a Lander, you will have to keep track of how many bullets of the main-gun fired, and the 1000's digit in your score. Take the total of bullets fired in the main-gun, then modulo 64, and it equals to the 1000's digit in your score. In speedrunning, it is recommended to get 5 landers from the Sarts as quickly as possible.

You can also get the Lander to appear by collecting EE (weapon 6) 6 times. However, the magic shot when you get the 6th tile only occurs once in the entire game, so use it wisely. If you die during the magic shot, you will lose the chance. Although this method is much safer for beginners, it is slower in speedrunning for various reasons.
